No kidding. And the Reds are just a couple games out of the wildcard.

The As against the Reds this weekend could be quite interesting. The high payroll Mets are in freefall. The Reds and Giants are only 1.5 games behind in the wildcard. Mets have to continue to play the Phils, which came back to beat the New Yorkers after falling behind 4-0 in the first.

The As are not mathematically eliminated, but virtually out of the playoff hunt. It will be interesting to see how much they want to play spoiler.

I believe that Met-Phillies game was a rain make-up. New York played TX, and lost two out of three. But yes, Oakland certainly spoiled it for Cincy with that sweep. The Arizona Diamondbacks are now in front of the Reds for the wildcard. And don't rule out the SF Giants.

I heard a funny thing on a broadcast the other day. The announcer implied he was making a mistaking when referring to the Sacramento team as the Oakland As. But I see them listed that way on the MLB website. Anyone?

AFAIK, the A's are still affiliated with Oakland and they are playing at Rivercats stadium. The Rivercats are a AAA Oakland A's affiliate. They will retain the Oakland moniker until the move to LV is completed.
