It's not nativist to want your demographics to remain stable, so that your culture does as well, unless you're defining the majority of the non-West as "nativist."

Tariffs can go either way economically, depending on what industry they are applied to and how they are designed. Tariffs are a lot of why we have domestic production for foreign-owned automakers, for example.

And if we want to talk about "bodily autonomy", Dems didn't give a damn about that with regard to the vaccine.

The worst thing about how our Census currently operates is that it incentivizes states to harbor illegals. This is true for red and blue states. Reapportionment was never intended to count non-citizens (aside from slaves).

While it is true that the Census has always counted non-citizens, a citizenship question was present in the Census from 1890 through 1950. This allowed for a distinction to be made with regard to numbers concerning reapportionment.
