(NY) Zohran Mamdani says Prostitution should be legal...

Thats a good idea it works in Nevada
I'm from Las Vegas. The sex workers at the "cat houses" have to be checked for disease Licensed prostitutes must be at least 18-21 years old. The brothels and their employees must register with the county sheriff and receive regular medical checkups.

The brothels and their employees must register with the county sheriff and receive regular medical checkups. Brothels have existed in Nevada since the old mining days of the 1800s and were first licensed in 1971. The legendary Mustang Ranch operated from 1971 through 1999, when it was forfeited to the federal government following a series of convictions for tax fraud, racketeering, and other crimes.

Currently 6 out of Nevada's 17 counties have active brothels (these are all rural counties). As of September 2023, there are 19 active legal brothels in the state.[1]

Nevada law requires that registered brothel prostitutes be tested weekly (by a cervical specimen) for gonorrhea and Chlamydia trachomatis, and monthly for HIV and syphilis;[20] furthermore, condoms are mandatory for all oral sex and sexual intercourse. Brothel owners may be held liable if customers become infected with HIV after a prostitute has tested positive for the virus.[21] Women work a legally mandated minimum of nine days for each work period.[22]

Nevada has laws against engaging in prostitution outside of licensed brothels, against encouraging others to become prostitutes, and against living off the proceeds of a prostitute.

Ha, I just noticed the power pole in the Shady Lady Ranch has a poster that says "Hillary" wrapped around the pole.

Mamdani in NY says prostitutes should be a legalized form of work. Mamdani is a socialist who is running for Mayor in NY.

What do you think?

Not too bright. One of the reasons prostitution is not legal in most places although there are few exceptions... Is that it is notoriously difficult to regulate. How do you value the product? How do you set a standard purchase price? How do you tax it? How do you handle customer complaints?
I can see even though he's a grip speaker he's not too sharp upstairs.

Prostitution can be regulated and somewhat controlled

If the girls submit to weekly VD checks as the price of doing business everyone concerned is a little safer

But in soft-on-crime NYC there will be few if any consequences for the hookers who do not follow the rules

So its a fools errand that accomplishes nothing

Another source for taxes and you can charge them for a license also.

LOL. I think he wants to be the pimp, collecting taxes on the prostitution.

15th post
I never had sex with a prostitute.
I did once, back in the 80's when I was single, at a legal brothel near Carson City, NV.

I paid for an hour with two lovely ladies. Best $400 I ever spent.

Isn't it funny how porn is legal but prostitution is not?

So, next time you want a hire a prostitute, just offer to film it and they can't arrest you.

But seriously, there is a reason why neighborhoods don't want strip clubs around their homes. It just breeds crime.

And I can attest first hand what legal prostitution is like in places like Amsterdam. I once walked through and could tell some of those girls were probably under age. One was even crying and had to pull the curtain as she advertised herself. And a local told me all of the girls were shipped in and basically trafficked in.

No, legalizing it does nothing to make it better. It's just sick and twisted.
Of course no one should be forced into it, but I have no problem with two consenting adults ******* and one of them being compensated for it.

Way cheaper than dating the two of them, less drama, and you know exactly what you're paying for. I've never done it, mostly because I'm not into high mileage cars. That being said, the older I get, the less that shit matters.
