Congress having the sole responsibility to spend federal money
The Markets, which consists of people who vote with their money and not with their mouths or their buttholes (They're bot the same on dimocrap scum) are loving the Shutdown. The 'Total Market' is up more than 2.5% since the Shutdown. Less than 4 weeks. Which is pretty amazing considering the Fed being turdballs.![]()

I TOTALLY agree! WATCH as Sen. John Fetterman calls on Republicans to “nuke”the filibuster... but only in cases of the government shutting down. That means it would no longer would require 60 votes to remain open. REPOST if you agree! #thinblueline #lawenforcement | 111 comments on LinkedInwww.linkedin.com
Does this Fetterman proposal make sense to you?
It does to me.
The feckless Neo GOP drove our bus into a ditch and now they want the Democrats to help push our bus out. Without any discussion, compromise or guarantees that the allocated funds will not be rescinded after they are approved.
I’m a little confused. Is that “no more of the shutdown?” Or is it no to the suggestion to of using the nuke option? No. Nuke shutdowns.
One would think. I agree.Congress has a Constitutional duty to pass actual budgets.
That’s the idea. But it’s not as easy as just saying it’s the way things ought to be.Pass budgets and it’s not an issue.
The creation of laws to force Congress to do its own damn job would have to come from them. It would be an amusing Catch-22 if it didn’t so clearly highlight the lack of seriousness our elected officials have for the positions we send them to DC to do.This is not a right or left issue. Both parties have decided Congress apparently has not actual responsibilities.
Thune needs to go nuclear or Trump's agenda is over.Nuke the filibuster for shutdowns?
Absolutely not.
When the tables turn, and they always do. The filibuster will be the only tool of restraint that the then minority will have.
Whether they will have the spines to use it is another question.
Nothing will stop th dems if they take control, as it should be, "elections have consequences" unless the senate stops everything, which is not democracy.I don't like it. It would open up the doors for the Dems to pass all kinds of junk when they control the Senate. I know it says only in cases of shutdown but I ain't buying that.
Makes perfect sense, simple majority cloture carve out for continuing resolutions related specifically to maintaining current funding levels and end this "shutdown" Kabuki Theater once and for all.![]()

It does to me.:
SCOTUS only has the power the Executive gives it. They're all bluff. They got nothing.I don't think the Supreme Court will allow that. Nor should they, the Constitution is very plain about Congress having the sole responsibility to spend federal money.
Nope. If Thune doesn't end the filibuster Trump's agenda is done.THIS is the DEM POSITION. IT IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE.
WE'D BETTER HAVE A STRATEGY OTHER THAN "THEY'LL CAVE."
Bust the filibuster or use Martial Law. Any other options?
That was the point of the senate from the beginning. Reigning in the popular passions of the moment.Thune needs to go nuclear or Trump's agenda is over.
We know the democrats will try to end the filibuster because they tried last term, and Joe Manchin and Sinema stopped them.
Why do we have elections if the stupid senate stops the majority?
Sorry, to be clear, they need to do their jobs and pass actual budgets, thus making the issue moot.I’m a little confused. Is that “no more of the shutdown?” Or is it no to the suggestion to of using the nuke option?
If the deficits keep expanding, it may come to that, whether we want to or not.One would think. I agree.

I doubt that you, Zinc, agree with what I am about to suggest, but Mark Levin has already recommended a solution. Not an easy one. But a solution all the same.
It’s time for an Article Five Convention of the States.
To the extent that we collectively believe that we, the People, are the true sovereigns in our republic, maybe it is time to put our collective foot down.
I think that is a likely scenario if dimocrap scum keep up their bullshit shutdown.Makes perfect sense, simple majority cloture carve out for continuing resolutions related specifically to maintaining current funding levels and end this "shutdown" Kabuki Theater once and for all.
If it was too expensive 44m people wouldn't be on it.44m people are on the ACA today. QED
Exactly. The ACA made healthcare more expensive, not less expensive.
Yep. So its better to have ACAIf millions of people have no health insurance, who pays for their medical expenses? Hint: they have no money
If they qualify.....Medicaid.
Removing the cap gets us 100% of SS instead of 77%.Removing the cap would extend SS from 2034 to 2060.
What does removing the cap do to the benefits received?
If I pay twice as much as I did under the cap, do I receive double the benefit?
You won't pay twice as much. Stop whining.Means test SS benefits
Meaning that even after I paid in twice as much, I get less than double, less than I received before or even nothing?

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried.Nope. If Thune doesn't end the filibuster Trump's agenda is done.
Even if the dems allow a CR, they will not allow the BBB to be implemented.
If the deficits keep expanding, it may come to that
They're getting subsidies through Medicaid. That's what a lot of this is about. The ACA took the place of Medicaid in many States. Not Florida, though. If it was too expensive 44m people wouldn't be on it.
Union representing federal workers calls on lawmakers to pass short-term spending bill
The president of the country's largest union representing federal workers is calling on lawmakers on Monday to pass a short-term spending bill to end the shutdown.
"It's time to pass a clean continuing resolution and end this shutdown today. No half measures, and no gamesmanship. Put every single federal worker back on the job with full back pay -- today," American Federation of Government Employees National President Everett Kelley said in a statement. The statement was first shared with NBC News.
The American Federation of Government Employees represents over 800,000 federal and Washington, D.C., government workers.
