The mythical $2000 Trump promised was to be funded by tariff revenue, yet he has been forced to cut tariffs because people can’t afford things.

To those who swallowed trump’s $2000 lie…
Do you still expect that money in your pockets?

I hope the Democrats block the $2000 in the Senate.

Plus he's completely over-stated the tariff revenue, which for him is standard operating procedure.

He ignorantly exacerbates a problem, then has to fix it like this.

And **** paying down the debt, of course.

$2000 bucks to every citizen making less than $100,000 that filed taxes, (60% of all personal income tax filers) is a hellova number. We saw, the inflation after the $2.2 Trillion Trump money dump and the $1.9 Trillion Biden did, and the inflation it created, that still has not returned to pre-money dump rates. I see no need for another money dump, even though, my wife and I would be two of the beneficiaries. It would be far better if he just dumped his capricious, inflationary tariffs, not dabbling an economy, he knows nothing about. I am beginning to think, economics 101 was not a course at Wharton School of Business.:rolleyes:

Yet none of you see that the tariffs, thus far, have had the desired effect.
He got better trade deals. Tariffs on U.S. products were lowered.
And - not known whether it will work or not - what his entire goal is, is to bring back better paying jobs for the middle class. That is his goal. And it is obvious.
But the left media, and their sheep, are so filled with hate and venom towards all things Trump - they don't even see it.

I encourage lefties to only buy foreign tariffed products to show how much they hate the USA.

I love all these armchair guys telling a billionaire he doesn't know anything about money.

Knowing about money, vs economy are two different things, and a money dump is popular with politicians in power, to buy support, even if bad for the economy in terms of inflation.

That's inflationary ... instead of some Cambodian working for 75¢/hr ... we'll get a Kentuckian to do the same work for $15/hr ... say bye-bye to your $10 school shoes now ...

$15/hr makes a family of three eligible for Food Stamps ... ha ha ha ha ha ha ... so that's still poverty-class ... so we'll need to pay the middle-class $30/hr to make school shoes ... we'll need at least a $150 tariff on foreign-made shoes for American-made shoes to be competitive ...

"Now, imposing such tariffs or trade barriers and restrictions of any kind are steps that I am loath to take. And in a moment I'll mention the sound economic reasons for this: that over the long run such trade barriers hurt every American worker and consumer." -- Ronald Reagan -- April 25th, 1987 -- {Cite}

That's assuming the Trump Administration implements a "one child only" policy ...
Tell that to all the 30 year olds working at WalMart and Burger King.

That isn't what is being proposed.

“There are a lot of options here,” Bessent said in the interview. “The president is talking about a $2,000 rebate and that would be for families making less than, say, $100,000.”

Families != Individual

So it would include married filing jointly.

Also, will it be based on Gross, AGI, or Taxable income when defining the $100,000 limit.

$20/hr by law flipping burgers at Burger King ... Walmart operations managers make on average $30/hr ...

Oh wait ... your 30-year-old wasted 10 years in school studying 12th Century Basket Weaving in southeast Romania ... that Master's Degree looks great up on the wall, it's a shame your 30-year-old has to work as a lousy cashier at Walmart ...

I learned as a 16-year-old child there's no money in working for someone else ...

The great man has made zero missteps on the economy so far. He said there would be temporary pain, but that we'd roar back with a vengeance. We already see the stock market setting weekly records.

All these leftwing Nobel naysayers and economists predicted recessions in both terms. Notably Paul Krugman and Mark Zandi. Both were wrong.

The stock market has been setting records throughout the whole period that shoppers have been screwed.

The stock market is just not a good reflection of what the ordinary person goes through. Shoppers don’t care about AI stocks being hot.

Looks like Bessent is opposed to Trump's plan to send the average Joe on Main street some cash again. That little ******* weasel is conniving behind DJT's back.

Trump may dump him.

My 30 year old?? - look it up. I have spoken about him before.
He is a respiratory specialist at the 5th largest children's hospital in America.
At 28, he was already published. And he worked with two others to develop a new way of intubating infants.
Try again.
