Non Citizens, dead people, under age 18 citizens, and convicted felons do not have the right to vote. If there are vulnerabilities in the system that can lead to abuse or otherwise canceling out a legitimate vote, then the system needs to be fixed.

I have no problem with a county registrar doing their job and verifying the eligibility of those who register

And once a voter is register to vote and remains active and eligible on the voter registration rolls, no further identification is required when the voter votes thereafter, unless there is evidence that a specific voter is attempting to commit fraud.
