On a hill
We have been watching Honeymooners, so seeing Gleason made me remember this movie.
It was Jackie Gleason's last movie, and Tom Hank's breakout film that showcased his abilities and set him up to be the super star actor he became.
It is VERY 80s. Very.
The music is 80s, the screen cuts are 80s, the hair is 80s - the corporate sensibilities - 80s.
But despite that, the movie still holds up well, and is still relevant.
A fitting end to Gleason's career.

And by corporate sensibilities... it is how 80s films portrayed executives and young ladder climbers.
Think "Secrets of My Success" - terrific example of 80s movies portraying work a holic executives as the people you want to be. The Yuppie movement.
COMPLETELY different today, as executives and corporate shills are portrayed as heartless, evil bastards.
