I would rather support Ukraine stopping them at their border than have to fight our way back on to that continent as we have had to do in the past. Believe that and you will probably believe anything you are fed .
Am not sure who MI6 think they are deceiving, but every military analyst will tell you that if Russia had lost that number , the UAF deaths would exceeed three million .
It is most likely that the UAF have lost over 600 000 and Russia around 40 000 with 60k being a top estimate .

BTW , The conditional tense ( could have) is of the "If Pigs could fly" variety .
And the deaths figure estimate drops from 350k to 70k in a couple of sentences .

The issue is the Russians are known for being able to absorb losses far in excess of what the US would find acceptable.

The problem for the Russians is the Ukrainians are made from the same mold.
