Not a great time to be messing around with the NIH.

Look at US death rates compared to the world...
The death rates were lower in Sweden and all of Africa, where they did virtually nothing but let the virus run its course.

It's you know-it-all fucking do-gooders, and your "listen to the experts" blind obedience, who killed people.

I would take any numbers from Africa with a grain of salt, as they probably had people die of COVID but didn't test for it.

Yeah...The virus that was soooo deadly that you needed to be tested to know if you even had it....And even the tests were bogus.

It was probably less deadly in Africa because people with co-morbidities don't last long there anyway.

Our higher rate can probably be attributed to our medical system being able to keep people alive that would be dead under less robust systems, and that gave something like COVID a shooting gallery.

No, you retarded dumbfuck. I didnt say anything about "jama"
This is called a NIH study, which is what I said. Please learn to read
This is a good example of playing politics. Not putting a bunch of hacks in timeout.
The anti-parasitic drug ivermectin, which has surged in popularity as an alternative treatment for Covid-19 despite a lack of strong research to back it up, showed no sign of alleviating the disease, according to results of a large clinical trial published on Wednesday.

The study, which compared more than 1,300 people infected with the coronavirus in Brazil who received either ivermectin or a placebo, effectively ruled out the drug as a treatment for Covid, the study’s authors said.

The researchers shared a summary of these results in August during an online presentation hosted by the National Institutes of Health, but the full data set had not been published until now, in The New England Journal of Medicine.

“Now that people can dive into the details and the data, hopefully that will steer the majority of doctors away from ivermectin towards other therapies,” Dr. David Boulware, an infectious-disease expert at the University of Minnesota, said.

Conclusions

Treatment with ivermectin did not result in a lower incidence of medical admission to a hospital due to progression of Covid-19 or of prolonged emergency department observation among outpatients with an early diagnosis of Covid-19.

Study supports evidence ivermectin not effective to treat COVID-19

By all means do take ivermectin if you should contract COVID and encourage all your Repub friends to do likewise.

Who paid for that study? Do you know?

Again, my point was, it was a NIH study and it was ignored by the NIH.
Please learn how to have a conversation. TIA

Primitive Microbes Can't Survive in Modern Atmospheres

Proof that "pollution" wipes out viruses can be concluded from China's incredibly low death toll of 6,000. There are many other examples, but we've been trained to believe what the self-appointed authorities tell us, no matter how many times we find out they've been wrong. Not only are they self-serving, power-hungry control-freak deceivers instead of qualified deciders, they are also mentally inferior and incapable of making logical connections.

The Biosphere Is War of All Against All, All the Time

Every microbe has a natural-enemy microbe. The African jungle is saturated with germs, but our ignorant disease-control clique is too ignorant to look for an anti-virus virus there.

You can't unbreak the lamp. The failure of the system to be honest during COVID is going to bite us in the ass if something does come along with a 5% mortality rate in healthy persons.
It wasn’t a problem with the system as much as it was a problem with the Trump cult rejecting reality for political expediency.

Wait China only had 6,000 deaths?
China announced a slight easing of its zero-COVID rules on November 11, 2022, and then a major relaxation on December 7, 2022. We estimate that the ensuing wave of SARS-CoV-2 infections caused 1.41 million deaths in China during December 2022-February 2023, substantially higher than that reported through official channels.

Bullshit. The Blue States never scaled down once it was found the mortality rate was less than a percent for people without serious co-morbidities.

Without serious comorbidities is very strained.

At risk people were those with hypertension or obesity or diabetes, which if you haven’t noticed is like half the country. No one considered these “serious” before you hacks needed an excuse.

At risk is different from at serious risk. you had to have a combo of those, and bad versions of them, to be really screwed.

At that point those people and the elderly should have been isolated and the rest of us back out to create herd immunity and to continue the attenuation of the virus.

Right. Obesity and hypertension? What are the odds they could have BOTH? Surely it’s exceedingly rare for people to be afflicted with two common conditions that have similar risk factors.

More scare tactics by the NIH for political purposes and extortion. Why can't the NIH and the freaking world organizations just do their job without scaring people about alleged health threats they can't control?

And Diabetes, and heart and lung issues, and the big one, being fucking old.

It wasn't just being slightly overweight and having controlled high blood pressure.

Except it was. Anyone who was overweight or had a history of hypertension had substantially higher risk.

Maybe if this country weren’t so unhealthy, you’d have a better argument but we are have a lot of people at risk. More so in the red states too.
