Well,not exactly. The temple complex was built by Herod the Great, who, by the way, was not a Jew, he was an Edomite. The Judeans/Israelites were just one of many people who inhabited Palestine. The fact that some Europeans later adopted their religion does not give them a claim greater than the people who have lived their for the last 1000 years.
