Actually, there are two ways Iran could strike back. One of them is terrorism. The other are cyber-attacks.

The best hope is that Trump declares victory, knocks it off, and Iran's new leaders decide not to pursue revenge. That's a lot of wishful thinking.

You assume the replacement leaders of Iran will be more of the theocracy, and that they will last in power.

Afghanistan situation was/is complex because the USA dropped interest/efforts once the Soviets left, then factions within the Pakistani ISI developed and supported the Taliban to provide an Islamic Jihadi puppet government. To get that job properly done would have meant going into Pakistan and after the half of the ISI that ran the Taliban. I'm sure you would have objected to "invading" Pakistan the same way you object to the USA going after our enemies, and you friends, in Iran.

Terrorism rarely leads to large casualties and cyber attacks except in rare occasions lead to none. Also if Iran had that capability why were they not exercising that instead of bombing their neighbors in retaliation which only expanded the number of countries involved in the attack against them?

Actually, Al Qaeda knocked down two buildings and completely changed our country for the worse.

Guy, a war against Terrorism is one thing. A war against Islam is another. There are 1.5 Billion Muslims and only 300 million of us. That's not a fight we are going to win.
