There is literature on the rise and fall of nations. And there are different eras of course. Manufacturing is important. We did not create enough work that equals the salaries we had with manufacturing. And there were manufacturing concerns that needed pay raises in that era also like the garment industry. There were people though who worked in it and had homes and families and were the only one with a paycheck. All of the social agendas helped to crush that way.

Honest to God, think about it. Do yourself a favor and look at some of the Cities in Japan, SW Asia, Germany......

Why are we the most advanced country on Earth but we don't have a functioning HSR system? Instead, tying up an aging Air-Travel fleet to make short hops of 300-500 miles that could be covered in half the time..... Why?

So much else..... A workable Health Care system that isn't dragged down by dirtbags unwilling to pay their way -- Caused by dimocrap scum forcing Doctors and Hospitals to treat them and then file with the State for, if they're lucky, 20 cents on the dollar.

Yes. And most all of them were waved in by Newsom and company to keep inflation and wages low and support thousands of government jobs, making it necessary for them to provide health care, schooling, and welfare and then have the nerve to want taxpayers to bail them out.

I lived and worked there many decades. It could be so much better.

A.). Roads. Roads, Roads. In NorCal, Silicon Valley?they dont have enough of them, or enough lanes. Decades of major commute highways taking hours to get to work. Only 3 lanes with sections that funnel down to 2 lanes. Potholes sit for ten years getting worse. Short yellow lights cause accidents-tickets. Rush hour is “all day”.. 3 hours to get any distance, always stop and go in hot spots. Accidents, yes. They never seem to build new roads and few new build houses for the needs. Takes forever to get anything done.

P.s. Roads are better in SOCAL but twice as many people.

Water, always in a “restriction”. Always a story. Tickets if you run sprinklers if sun out. Or water gets on sidewalk. Can’t wash cars. Cant water backyard. Use more than last year? Pay 2X-5X cost depending on zip code.

Electricity? Pay more for zip codes. Pay more when you need to use it. During daytime.

PG&E offered $100 credit for smart box added onto electric. I ignored it for five years. One day it was just installed while I was working? Who knows but they can monitor or reduce or turn off your power at their choosing.

Yes, I could go on. Hospital emergency rooms lol! Taxes? Karens?
