We were poor, and my parents worked a lot. I was a latchkey kid. People think that only happened to Gen Xers, but in truth, we boomers all through the '60s were pretty much left alone to fend for ourselves outside of school.

As a teen, I never had the money for a ticket to a sports game, and my dad prioritized home ownership, and having a home, and sports were something you could watch on TV. After all, we had four channels to watch!

I was 17 before I went to My first concert in the Oakland Coliseum for a "Day on the Green" '78 featuring AC/DC.

After that, I joined the Air Force in '81, and I wasn't near any sports stadiums.

how you figure the packers scoring 40 points against the fagboys after only scoring 10 last week against the browns probably the worst team in the NFL? life is weird. sucked seeing the fagboys score lots of points,liked it MUCH better when they could hardly score anything against the bears thw week before I love the bears this year for that.go bears.

**** the NFL. the only time i have tuned in to watch them is the playoffs to watch the chiefs sense mahomes is the most exciting quarterback to play the game sense john elway otherwise if not for mahomes,I would NEVER watch any NFL football.

the chiefs who i never even liked other than when montana was there,are the only team i ever bother to tune in to watch at all these days but even that may end if they keep having all these boring low scoring gamesd every week like 10 to 7. I only started watching them because they were EXCITING to watch always having high scoring games like 47 to 42.

I can mostly only stomach the NFL REDZONE channel. Was no Commercials, now so.e side by side? UGH.. Sideline ho, $10 million announcer telling me "Great run" when I just saw it on full games. Racist Black commentators. Do I need that? No.

If you pay your QB top of the market money and Purdy gets top 10 money no matter how you parse the money (per year, total guarenteed, total for the contract) he has to over come things like the line not being great or the defense not being great or not having the best weapons in football. Purdy had the luxury of tons of great players around him which made him look better than he was. CMC Trent Williams, Kittle, a top 5 Defense. etc etc. Now he doest have it and what he actually is and what many people thought he was.

What exactly are you disagreeing with? Teams who pay their QB top dollar money can't pay for a team full of top tier players. The salary cap doesn't allow for it. SF is no different in that regard than anyone else. Mahomes doesn't have near the weapons he had early in his career because he got paid, same with Allen. and Burrow. Everyone expects them to elevate their respective teams with lesser players. Should Purdy be held to some other standard? He's cashing the game checks.

Mac Jones who everyone has written off as a starting QB in the NFL is putting up the same numbers (actually better) than Purdy. Jimmy G was "in the MVP conversation" as a 49er. Leaves and is out of the league in 2 years. Shannahan's system is very QB friendly. I dont blame Purdy for taking the money I would blame the team for giving it to him were I a SF fan. How is it they dont realize it's their coach's system making the QB's look good not the other way around.
