NFL Wk. 1 - Thurs. KC def. Balt. 27-20!

My interest in the NFL wanes more with each passing year....Other than the Skins (or whatever they are called now) I pretty much turn on NFL Redzone and take a nap.

Last evening I had the game on but was working on a gun project the whole time.

I found a great way to watch. I tape the game and wait an hour. I ff A LOT. And if I get tired, I go to bed and wake up in the morning and watch the end. DVR has changed my life.

So I may not watch as much as I do if I had to watch every second. I ff A LOT. Like, after the play is done, I hit ff and it skips 15 seconds. Speeds the game up A LOT and I don't miss a thing except the huddle.

Mahomes didn't look very sharp last night.

First week against one of the top two defenses last year.

With all the TV commercials watching NFL games have become as bad as watching baseball. I didn't see the game last night and so I'm basing my "yes" simply because dynasties in football are not all that rare.

That being said, based on my track record of predictions, smart money would bet heavily against it.

Both KC & Baltimore went down in flames today! Hopefully the Raven's record of 7-4 will end the MVP discussion & bring in other players to mind other than Pat Mahomes & Lamar Jackson!

Who’s having a better year than Jackson? Saquon Barkley maybe but even with the most current loss Jackson is playing lights out so far this season.

That's fair but the MVP is an individual regular season award, not a playoff team success award. Why does P Manning have more MVP's than Brady. Can you say Aaron Rodgers?

I guess maybe I'm missing something! It's not like Jackson's #'s are that great! He has bad losses; Cleveland & LV defeats at the top of the list! Rodgers' act, though egotistically at least over-performed other QB's by "a lot;" same w/ Payton! Brady deserved MVP in his 1 great year w/ Moss in 2007 though we find cheating was involved in that undefeated reg. season! Give it to Saquon!

Which starting QB has better #'s than Jackson? He's second in passing yds. 25/3 TD to INT has the best RTG of all starting QB's and has 600 yds rushing with the NFL leading rusher on his team. I'm not sure how his numbers could really be much better. Oh and BTW he's played 4 of the top 10 defenses in the league so far to put up those numbers....

I'm just not impressed by Jackson listening to how he's fawned over at times! Mahomes gets even more attn. than his #'s warrant, but at least he's winning! I guess I'm just stuck on the Playoff rec.! It isn't fair, but that's why we're called "fanatics!" We all have an opinion on players! My thing is, it's getting harder & harder to care as $$'s out of control, the egos of the respective leagues are out of control, & winning obviously doesn't matter as much!

Just taking Dallas Cowboys, they haven't done $#!t in 30 yrs., but like the Yankees, the season begins & ends w/ those Cowboys! You have 2 players taking up $120 M in salary alone, & the owner holds press conferences as if he was right in the mid'l of the action! What other owner has his own radio show? It shows the delusion of TX as he hasn't been punished in the least for his interference & lack of winning for so long! We're old enough to recall, Jimmy Johnson & his "Boys" were out celebrating their latest SB win! Jerry walks in trying to insinuate himself into their comradery, then gets offended when the entire room just stops! Next thing I see is Johnson leaving the clubhouse w/ a garment bag slung over his shoulder telling the Press he's "been fired!" They haven't recovered even though they snuck 1 more SB out of his players in '95!

I hated the Cowboys so I didn't mind, but I respected Johnson who I consider the best assessor of talent I've ever seen! He picked & utilized players for as long as they were productive, then cut bait as soon as they slouched in any way! I was a Bills fan back then so it hurt like HELL that it didn't matter if they telegraphed their plays, they couldn't be stopped! Smith had holes opened that a truck could literally roll thru & not be touched! I can still remember a MNF game where Minn. was keeping up w/ them in TX! There was the question of going for the win at the end of the game w/ a 2-Ptr.! He settled for a tie! Dallas got the ball in OT & in the 1st play Emmett ran "to the house," 65 yds. untouched! The Boys would have owned the League if not for Jones letting his feelings rule the day that ended their Dynasty before it even began! Now it's all fake; the attn., the expectations, & inevitable autopsies after they go "down in flames" for yet another season!
