NFL season might go 18 games

It's just like college bowl games that are not part of the playoffs. I went to a bowl game last season that was a total disaster because none of the top-notch players wanted to risk injury.
What looked like a great matchup on paper last bowl season (Georgia - Florida State) wound up with the Bulldogs essentially beating the Seminoles JV team with all the players opting out.

Yep, they were archaic relics from another time.

Now, the expanded playoffs will make them largely unnoticed.. thankfully

FSU was getting blown out regardless
 
I thought it was 18 now. I guess it's 17. Wondering when the NFL will peak in popularity. This stuff is often cyclical.
