Fox News op-ed slams Obamas for their $15 million ‘house of hypocrisy’

That’s Carol Roth, author and host of “The Roth Effect” podcast, slamming Barack and Michelle Obama for the “house of hypocrisy” they reportedly bid some $15 million for in Martha’s Vineyard.


One of Roth’s followers on Twitter TWTR, -0.17% , where she became a trending topic on Tuesday morning after the opinion piece was published on the Fox website, said that the “awesome” quote above “completely captures current conservatives versus liberals narratives.”

She didn’t disagree.

“As a capitalist, I am all in favor of people making as much money as they want and spending it how they please,” Roth wrote. “However, this lavish new abode is quite a statement in hypocrisy from the former president, who spent his presidency demonizing everyone else’s success.”

She said the Obamas’ spending is aligned with the “hypocrisy and envy” that have become a trademark of the Democratic Party.

“Their definition of ‘too rich’ seems to be one dollar more than whatever they happen to be worth at a given point in time,” Roth wrote, pointing her finger directly at Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

“Too many in Democratic leadership peddle the politics of envy and victimhood to grab power, wealth and success for themselves,” she said.
