Canada denies home healthcare to ALS patient, pays for assisted suicide instead

The family of a Canadian man says the government-run healthcare system failed their son who felt his only option was to die by physician-assisted suicide after his requests for home healthcare were denied.

Forty-one-year-old Sean Tagert died on Aug. 6 after Vancouver Coastal Health, a publicly-funded healthcare provider, refused to cover the 24-hour in-home healthcare his doctor said he needed, the CBC reported earlier this month. The provider said it would cover 15 to 20 hours a day for care, but Tagert would be required to pay for the remaining hours at a cost of $7,905 a month, which he could not afford.

Dumbassed socialists!

AlS PATIENTS DON’T SURVIVE VERY LONG. how does it feel forcing someone to suicide?

Providing someone with 9 mm handgun is a lot cheaper than providing health care.

Its about the money, and this proves the hypocrisy of supposed gun control freaks in Canada.

The Canadian Health Plan is simple, "die quickly"

ALS patients can last a long time, Stephen Hawking over 50 years from diagnosis to room temperature.

Lou Gehrig only lasted 2 years however.

The actual article says he was offered 20 hours care. He could have also got coverage elsewhere but he wasn't interested in that.

Insurance here is no better. You don't get to set the parameters here .

The man was offered a gun to blow his own head clean off. Assisted suicide, the Liberal way.

I have personally known three. They died fairly quickly.

When you trust your health implicitly to the government you literally live or die on their terms.

During an Obama Care town hall he advised a woman with an elderly mother who needed heart surgery to try more pain pills when Medicare refused to repair her heart.

You life has zero value to government auditors if it requires them to put more money
into your particular case.
