Ivanpah never worked and burns natural gas to make electricity. It was never a real solar plant, jusr a 6 square mile lie

The most efficient use of a windmill is using the kinetic energy directly to pump water, grind flour, etc. Converting kinetic energy into electricity and transmitting it long distance over wire, plus windmill and wire construction and maintenance, will probably make it a net loss. Building a small windmill next to what it powers could work well enough, if the construction materials are close enough to reliable wind and there is work to be done at that wind site.

There's a company just a few miles out of Sioux Falls where they store the "stems" -- not sure if they manufacture them there.

Whenever you run into them on a narrow county two-lane, transporting the damn things, you just get to deal with it as they maneuver traffic past them. Huge PITA.

And remember their citizens bills were like $5000 a month? It's because the corporations were too cheap to maintain their infrastructure. This is why the country should not be run like a company. Companies take risks to cut costs and people die.
