7 wind turbines NYs first have been made into scrap. Why? Too expensive to maintain. Eventually they all will be torn down

Madison, N.Y. – Seven wind turbines that were heralded 25 years ago as harbingers of New York state's green energy future were demolished Wednesday in Madison County. The turbines, which were more than 200 feet tall, were blown up one after another. It took about 30 second

Link?

At least they were torn down and not just abandoned and left to the elements like in HI.

Speaking of wind, the largest solar farm in CA is shutting down because of inefficiencies and high maintenance cost.

Leftists have a strange method of worshipping their leaders. If Obama or Biden made a claim, the claim must be true.

So?

They had reached the end of their operational life. It was expected.

Ivanpah never worked and burns natural gas to make electricity. It was never a real solar plant, jusr a 6 square mile lie

The most efficient use of a windmill is using the kinetic energy directly to pump water, grind flour, etc. Converting kinetic energy into electricity and transmitting it long distance over wire, plus windmill and wire construction and maintenance, will probably make it a net loss. Building a small windmill next to what it powers could work well enough, if the construction materials are close enough to reliable wind and there is work to be done at that wind site.

.

I'll be happy when he gets the ones in Minnesota and SD demolished.

There's a company just a few miles out of Sioux Falls where they store the "stems" -- not sure if they manufacture them there.

Whenever you run into them on a narrow county two-lane, transporting the damn things, you just get to deal with it as they maneuver traffic past them. Huge PITA.

What about Texas?

Texas leads the U.S. in wind power generation and has a massive number of turbines, while also becoming a major solar energy producer, often ranking second to California but quickly adding capacity, making it a clean energy powerhouse. The state boasts the most wind turbines and generates the most wind power, and its solar capacity is also top-tier, driven by abundant land, favorable wind/sun, and an independent grid.

The turbines will all be trash in less than 10 years. Fossil fuels and nuclear will replace all green energy. States with green energy pay more for their power. Texas has to buy surplus energy when they have shortage. Green energy cant meet the demand for AI and data banks

Texas is the only state that has 100% privatized their energy. They are not on the national grid. And that bit them in the ass when that storm hit remember? And remember their citizens bills were like $5000 a month? It's because the corporations were too cheap to maintain their infrastructure. This is why the country should not be run like a company. Companies take risks to cut costs and people die.

They said if the company in charge of Texas' energy was a person it'd spend the rest of it's life in prison.

Reminds me of the Flint Water Crisis where Republican Governor Rick Snyder was running Michigan like a corporation. A corporation that doesn't care about it's poorest employees/citizens.

I think you mean electric grid and yes Texas is connected to the national electric grid North American power transmission grid - Wikipedia

The flint water crisis was caused by Darnell Earley (D) city manager of flint switching flint’s water source from the Detroit Water and Sewage department to the flint river
