the criminal charges stemmed from Trump's "private acts" prior to him becoming president. And the judge argued Trump's communications about the payments while he was in the White House did not touch on any official acts

Merchan's case involves witnesses from Trump's campaign... which makes that part of Trump's official duties... so any federal judge will slap it down in a day... Merchan knows this so what do you call that?... what is it all about because its not about justice....

a federal court could only become involved if there is a federal law violation. Even then, the federal court cant rule on any state law violation.

Ram, hate to tell (no not really) there was no federal crime here. It is up the State Courts of New York to resolve this is matter. The State Appeals Court has ruled and Felon47 has lost. He will be sentenced on Friday as scheduled.

The SCOTUS affirmed Presidential Immunity for official acts.

Last I checked business fraud to pay your fixer lawyer who was paying a porn star for you isn't a duty described in the Constitution as a core function or an official act.

I've never said that Cohen or Trump where charged with getting an NDA - which is perfectly legal.

Cohen was charged in federal court for the METHOD OF PAYMENT for the NDA, not for the NDA itself. Trump was charged and convicted of business fraud in laundering the money to pay Cohen back through is business.
