To be honest I don’t think Malone is an upgrade to Thibs. He’s a good coach and suitable replacement, but I don’t think he’s a guy to get over the championship hump with. Unless we somehow get Danny Hurley or Jay Wright, which doesn’t look good, I expect the team to take a step back next season.

Why would you not want a guy who won it all recently? If you can get him get him. I was expecting the Knicks to name one of the Van Gundy's as next head coach. LOL. Malone would be great!

He got an okay squad to overachieve one year. So did whoever coached the Bucks the one year they won it. Also you got to give whoever Boston's coach was last year. They did it. They got a championship. That's all that it takes to make you highly sought after. Unless you know something we don't?

Now a championship coach can also be fired from a team. Maybe you were good to teach a team how to win for the first time but you lose control of them now that they are lazy and lost the eye of the tiger.
