Thank goodess she's coming back to a class area lol... Of course she went from New York City to Europe back in the good old days. By far the fastest ocean liner ever built, fireproofed so she would make the perfect troop ship... She could do 38 knots or 43 mph.... The next fastest were Maybe 32 knots temporarily....
I made ten crossings back in the fifties Three times each on the Queen Mary and the Queen Elizabeth where I sneaked up to the bow at 30 knots OMG, the Sylvania Saxonia and Ivernia and my favorite story the Columbia which was launched in 1913 and built at the same time and the same place as the Titanic. The Queen Mary went on strike, it was the last year for the ship that started as the RMS Katoomba in Australia- new Zealand run. In 1957 it had a fire and Collision- we went between the two up to Quebec through gigantic icebergs which is weird because it was August.... My father the dr. joined the British Army in May 1941 to fight Nazis and met Mumsy in India where he was at Imphal the Stalingrad of the East OMG... He was waiting for us and thought that Colombia was a river excursion boat....
