It just got worse. Just imagine that you’re a student in Illinois who worked hard to complete their studies and did their homework but who doesn’t have the financial means for college. You must now compete for financial aid diverted For illegal aliens.

The state of Illinois is about to make it possible for illegal aliens to access state and local student financial aid. Governor J.B. Pritzker has already signed the law and it goes into effect on January 1st of 2026.

This is happening as the Trump Justice Department is suing various states over this exact issue. Student financial aid that is meant for American citizens should not be going to people who are in the country illegally

Not federal aid though.

And their legislature created the law, it passed, and Pritzker signed it.

Oh, no problem then. What taxpayer would have a problem with limiting aid to American citizens when they can reward and encourage illegal aliens?
How is the aid limited for American citizens? They either qualify by meeting the criteria for financial aid, or they don't?

Where do you think the money for financial aid comes from?

??? From the residents...sales taxes at 7% plus municipal taxes that can bring the sales tax to 11%, and state income taxes.....4.95% flat rate...

They dont they are illegals. The goal is to bribe them to get ther votes and keep them in the country to be counted in the census.

Yes the money comes from taxpaying citizens. What an audacious idea.

There is a pool of money that applicants apply for. You believe that the money just magically appears, right?

Money is fungible. They should not receive any federal aid of any sort if they are funding this aid to illegals. That means no SALT deductions, nothing.

Sadly, Democrats do believe in a proverbial money tree.

The population of Illinois is 12 million. The population of Chicago greater area is 9 million.

This is the problem where states have a huge majority of their politics controlled by one big metropolis. If I were in rural or small town Illinois, if it were at all feasible, I'd move.

(for comparison, my state has 10 million people, but Detroit Metro has only 4.4 million. So less than half compared to 75%)

interesting development. A lot more international travel to Krapistan for government collection agents when the deported illegals abscond on their debts.

Nope, sales tax is a big part of it, of which all residents pay.

Your gateway pundit article on it says the American kids from another state, who are not and never had been residents, should also qualify for the State of Illinois financial aid....and that just ain't gonna happen, with or without undocumented resident kids getting it....the states incentive is to help all including poorer resident kids the opportunity of college in careers that will keep residents in the State of Illinois near their family unit.....after they graduate.....

And quite frankly, that is up to them, not you or me.

You really are showing your coat sleeve with BUSY BODY written all over it....the town gossip, the trouble maker of things that you have no business with.....why are you like that....?

15th post
So when ICE arrests/deports them who is responsive for their bill?

If I were running the colleges in IL I'd insist on payment up-front and just reimburse the unused portion.....With a 10% handling fee applied of course. ;)

Here is the problem. How do we increase the size of government largesse and have huge increases in taxes in all ways including insurances, charges for monopolies, port authorities, toll roads, etc. etc. etc. and still have poorer residents. Explain it. We even lowered the IQ's of part of the population to give them employment and have a good percentage of people with power not that good except to call white people names and promote getting more money in taxes for their agendas.
