Iraq is now controlled by Shiites who are aligned with Shiite Iran. Another very sad result of the Iraq War blunder. And they're currently in the process of exterminating Sunnis and Kurds in places like Mosul. It was once a city populated by mostly Sunnis and Kurds. But the Shiites have been very successful so far in clearing Sunnis and Kurds from the area for good. So if i were you, i wouldn't expect Iraq to do your bidding in Syria. It ain't gonna happen.

And the Turks and Kurds will be very busy killing each other in the coming years. They won't have enough resources to kill Syrians too. That's a horrific bloodbath just waiting to happen. So i'm sorry, but your fantasy will never be a reality. All foreign nations should leave Syria. They don't belong there. Period, end of story.

You were Spot On. The Shiites now run the show in Iraq. And while most are celebrating the Iraq Government's success in defeating ISIS in Mosul, they have no idea what's also going on. The Shiite Iraq Government is also making sure Sunnis and Kurds never return to Mosul. And Mosul was once a city completely controlled by Sunnis and Kurds. But now the Shiites own it.

The Iraq War blunder has been a miracle for Shiites. They never dreamed they would ever control Iraq. That's why i said, don't expect Iraq to intervene in Syria. They aren't gonna turn on fellow Shiites and help ISIS and Sunni 'Rebels.' If they do intervene, it will be on the Assad, Russia, and Iran side.

Now, you're just making that up. The fact is the Assad government is backed by Shi'ite nations and militias from all over the ME and central Asia and the rebels are backed by Sunni nations from all over the ME and central Asia. This is clearly a sectarian war between Sunni and Shia and in Syria, Sunni make up 74% of the population.

The war began when Assad ordered his troops to open fire on peaceful demonstrators who were asking for help after losing their homes to the encroaching eastern desert, which led to Sunni officers and soldiers to defect and for Sunni who were called up by the draft to stop reporting for training. This created a manpower shortage that Hezbollah stepped in to fill because Assad did not have enough soldiers to drive his tanks.

That's a different problem. The problem in Ukraine dates back to the Clinton administration. Gorbachev agreed to liberate the Soviet satellite states on the basis of a promise by Bush41 that the Us would prevent them from joining NATO, and Clinton reneged on this promise. Russia has complained to the last three presidents about this with no response from Washington, so finally Russia decided to take unilateral action to provide a buffer between itself and NATO, an organization formed to fight Russia.

The situation in Syria is entirely different. Russia's only interest in Syria seems to be to keep its naval base on the Mediterranean, and its ability to keep it seems to depend on keeping Assad in power. It's too late to try to keep Bush41's promise in eastern Europe, so settling these issues is a very complex problem, but in Syria the solution is simple: support Russia's use of its navel base and Russia will have no more interest in supporting Assad.
