New gun laws are not needed...actually punishing gun criminals is actually needed...

This is why background checks don't stop criminals from getting guns....this woman was talked into committing a crime, a straw purchase of a gun, by her boyfriend......they sold the gun to someone who couldn't get the gun legally....

This story also shows why we don't need to new gun laws to fight gun crime...this couple was captured the old fashioned way...through police work and likely a snitch.......

What do we actually need? We need to lock up people who make straw purchases for gun criminals for 10 years...we need to have gun stores tell people who buy guns that if they are buying a gun for someone else, illegally, they can go to prison for 10 years.....and remind them of that before they make the purchase......they need to tell criminals coming into jail and prison this, they need to tell convicts the same thing when they leave jail and prison....

And then they actually have to lock up straw buyers for 10 years.....

That is how you reduce gun crime...not buy targeting John and Jane Q. citizen who own a gun to protect themselves and their families...
