New FDA Guidelines Put Women at Risk

The FDA's new guidelines put mothers at greater risk. They are allowing the abortion pill to be taken later in the pregnancy and have reduced the number of doctor visits required. This means patients take the pill at home and deal with the pain alone. There are many things that can go wrong. Not only will abortion clinics make more money by selling more pills, they will greatly reduce their cost of patient care because there will be less visits. This is what the left calls progress.

The population control crowd, who pretend to be all about choice, seem to think that abortions should be allowed up till the day a baby is born.

They are getting closer to back alley abortions with every demand. They don't think abortion clinics need to be within a reasonable distance to hospitals in the event something goes wrong. Inspections of clinics have shown poor, unsanitary conditions in many of them and the majority were not regularly inspected. They don't think doctors should have to be the ones to perform them and want to train people to do them. They oppose ultrasounds that would detect potential serious problems that may endanger the mother's health and give a more accurate assessment of the gestational age of the fetus. It would also enlighten women as to what the clump looks like and may cause some to change their minds. In other words, anything that would cause a woman to hesitate or have concerns or doubts should be eliminated. Her health is the last priority. Population control is the top priority.

The abortion "argument" is ever so much becoming a discussion topic among the elderly.

Millennials don't let others' religion intrude upon Constitutional rights.

So you have no comment on the topic of the thread, which is the safety of women. It's one thing to choose to have an abortion. It's another matter when the left has attempted to remove medically sound safeguards.

Women will take this pill later in pregnancy and will do it without sufficient supervision from doctors. The point here is that the population control supporters have put their agenda above the health of women. It's wrong.

The left has systematically removed safeguards that were in place to ensure safe abortions. They should be done only by doctors. The sooner they are done, the safer. Clinics should be fairly close to hospitals in the event something goes wrong. Clinics should have the same safety procedures in place as hospitals. They should be inspected regularly and held to high standards. Ultrasounds, which are comparable to EKGs, X-rays and other pre-procedure tests, should be done to detect potential problems.

The left is against all the above. They want abortions treated like pedicures and don't see the need for all the precautions. Now the FDA doesn't believe chemical abortions via the pill should be done under close supervision of doctors. And they will be allowed much later in the pregnancy. And since libs have fought against ultrasounds, which is how doctors accurately determine the gestational age of the fetus, there is no way to know that the pill will be taken within the 10 week minimum. Just like abortions might not be within the time limit. It means a greater risk to the woman's health, but that never becomes a concern for those wanting to keep the population numbers down. I suppose if a woman dies or is unable to have more children because of complications, it just furthers the goal.

I did not say I am against abortions, but you assume that because I have concern for women's health. Amazing.

Again, this thread is about sound medical practices. Are you for or against that?

From the side who believe government should be limited to warfare and the womb, this critique is transparently cynical.

It's actually pretty straight forward. Why is the left opposing doctors when it comes to standards for performing abortions? I think we are inching closer to back alley abortions because we are slowly chipping away at the standards that exist for the safety of the patient.

What is more important to the left, women's health or population control? It would seem that you guys are willing to risk women's health for the sake of keeping the population from growing.
