The FDA's new guidelines put mothers at greater risk. They are allowing the abortion pill to be taken later in the pregnancy and have reduced the number of doctor visits required. This means patients take the pill at home and deal with the pain alone. There are many things that can go wrong. Not only will abortion clinics make more money by selling more pills, they will greatly reduce their cost of patient care because there will be less visits. This is what the left calls progress.
The population control crowd, who pretend to be all about choice, seem to think that abortions should be allowed up till the day a baby is born.
They are getting closer to back alley abortions with every demand. They don't think abortion clinics need to be within a reasonable distance to hospitals in the event something goes wrong. Inspections of clinics have shown poor, unsanitary conditions in many of them and the majority were not regularly inspected. They don't think doctors should have to be the ones to perform them and want to train people to do them. They oppose ultrasounds that would detect potential serious problems that may endanger the mother's health and give a more accurate assessment of the gestational age of the fetus. It would also enlighten women as to what the clump looks like and may cause some to change their minds. In other words, anything that would cause a woman to hesitate or have concerns or doubts should be eliminated. Her health is the last priority. Population control is the top priority.
