If there is any ray of sunshine for Democrats today, they can take solace in the gains they made in Nevada. In 2014 the Republicans swept everything, all statewide offices, and taking control of both the State House and State Senate. Along with a Republican governor it's been the first time in 80 years the GOP held all three at the same time. Democrats obliterated those gains last night. They held the Reid Senate seat, flipped two Congressional seats, took a one seat majority in the State Senate, and captured eight seats in the State House, handing the majority back to them. They also narrowly won the gun background check question (Ballot Issue 1) by less than 10,000 votes.
