Not sure why Netflix has 3 different shows all called The Stranger, and have no relation to each other.

This is about this one:

The movie has an interesting storyline, it is the story of how Australian officials managed to catch an elusive child rapist/murderer. With no evidence.
Couple things:
1) It is a movie made for Australia, You will need subtitles or you won't have the foggiest idea what is happening 3/4 the time. I want to strangle producers/directors who insist on making background noises at the same noise level as the dialogue. So turning the volume up does nothing. That is annoying as hell. We almost didn't get past the first few minutes because of this.
2) They use a lot of acronyms and slang that will have you confused at times.
3) The movies is not always shot in sequence, so it can get confusing when this happens. Again, not sure why they do this.

Overall however, the movie is a good one. The acting is superb, the storyline is unique and definitely keeps you interested despite the above.

The 1946 "The Stranger" with Orson Welles as a Nazi fugitive and Edward G. Robinson as a federal detective assigned to track him down in a little village in New England was a superb B&W movie.

There are lots of movies with the same name. If the film is in public domain as is Orson Welles movie The Stanger (1946), movie makers may use that title. If it's still under copywrite, then the movie maker has to get a release from the copywrite holder which usually requires a fee.
