I applaud the Nebraska Supreme Court for their ruling.

Shame on that lower court judge.

I'm surprised that in 2021 same sex couples are still being denied the same rights as heterosexual couples. I thought those old draconian laws were thrown out years ago.

Looks like the first judge twisted the law to fit his "old fashioned" notions as opposed to ruling on the law as laid out in Nebraska. Clearly the wording as explained by the Supreme Court of Nebraska allows this.

You have little control over normal parents until something goes wrong. That doesnt mean you dont strictly control who you place an adopted child with.

He sure did twist that law into a pretzel to come to his ruling.

Thank goodness the Supreme Court corrected it.

A large number of adopting couples have that issue. While unfortunate for many couples as a society we should be pleased that there are couples out there willing to take kids that others did not want.

We have fostercare. As a person who grew up in foster care I am glad I wasn't placed in a home where the proper roles of a man and a woman could not be taught to me.
