I've done that a couple of times, but with the opposite result.
I rooted for the Spurs all night, I knew I hit the under so I sign in and first thing I notice is my balance seems high, and I look at settled bets and see I bet the Knicks. I said, oh HELL no!

A guy in my fantasy football league claimed he messed up his transaction (dropping a valuable player) because he wasn't wearing his reading glasses. I gave him the benefit of the doubt because I can relate.

I've mentioned this before but it seems like there's way more Knicks fans than Spurs fans in the world, therefore a disproportionate number of people betting on the Knicks. I would assume the betting houses lose money if the Knicks win the series. But then again, maybe they hook the winning wagerers on a dopamine high and eventually get their money back
:dunno:

I heard Wemby's worst games this season were against O.G. Anunoby, I'm guessing with the Knicks historic playoff run they've now had (12 wins in a row now) the sharps were all over the Knicks, I got them at +170 fairly late in the playoffs, I'm pretty sure big money has been laid on that team to win the finals, the house will probably take a beating on this.

Or the Spurs win. 🤷‍♂️

The Knicks are playing at an insane level. Can they maintain it? Was that an emotional down game for the Spurs? This is one of the most interesting finals matches in a long time.

I’m not being cocky because I could be wrong, but I really think the Knicks will sweep the spurs.

Brunson won 2 titles at Villanova, he is from Lincolnshire, Illinois, a pretty affluent suburb of Chicago. Dude is a winner, I think he took his HS team to the championship and lost but not sure

I was watching Pat Macafee this morning and they brought up this stat:

The last three times a road team won game 1, LOST the series.

W/ a very feeble memory here, this tracks w/ my Chicago Bulls taking their 1st NBA Chp.! The LA Lakers were weak in 1991, w/ Magic on his "farewell Showtime" tour after Kareem had retired 2 yrs. previously! The Lakers stole game 1 here in Chgo., then got "smoked" in all 3 of their Home Games in LA! I doubt SA can sweep NYK, but losing this 1st game wasn't a shock; esp. after going 7 games in the Conf. Final! I was more surprised that SA kept coming back to take leads only to disintegrate in the final minutes of the game! The Spurs are in it & the Knicks have to continue relying on "being hot!" The real talent & youth is in the WEST! :clap2: :omg::(:happy-1::clap2:

Just heard a crazy stat that definitely applies to betting: In the past 14 Finals, the winner is 63-3-3 in covering the spread.

Tonight's game will be telling. The Spurs looked like they had an OKC hangover, they should be full energy in game 2.

Moneyline or point spread? 6.5 is a pretty stout spread considering the run the Knicks have been on.
Agreed, but it's time for a correction after the 12 straight wins. I think the Spurs cover tonight, the 63-3-3 record against the spread (by the winner) in the Finals over the last 14 seasons blew my mind. (Many of those wins were the dog winning outright, like last game.)
