Navigation and UI on this new format is AWFUL

This site is soooooo hard to navigate on a phone it's almost painful.

1. Threads are seemingly endless and with no page scroll options at the top it takes FOREVER to scroll to the bottom to change pages.

2. Every "option" is so damn big on the site that adult fingers trying to click font options are just as likely to wind up on a porn site as they are to actually pull up the font options.

3. Responses with MANY embedded quotes take forever to get to the end of with one letter per line.

4. The little button prompt to let you zoom to the top often disappears just as you go to click on it taking you to a search page.

5. The text box you're typing in is NEVER in view.


The site is just pretty unintuitive now

Actually, it is pretty fabulous on a desktop computer. I use a 27" monitor. I don't know how folks can spend their lives navigating the internet on a tiny handheld device and not think they are giving up a lot. I think the problem is the small size of a cellphone is simply not adequate to all the info packed into the screen.

If you've got it blown up and magnified that high, no nav thingy is gonna make that better..

I dunno what you're talking about now. I haven't touched any screen magnification options and wouldn't even know where to go to find them.

That IS the top of page.. It TOOK you there. That's where the search box is -- but the MAGNIFICATION IS UP or you're page capturing is truncated.. I can count the characters left to right and there's not ROOM in that screen capture to display anything..

Maybe get some here that works USMB from mobile to help you.. I only know I NEVER see a full page of USMB look like what you're showing me.. TRY "pinching down" the magnification...

There is no pincing lol. If you can steer me to the site settings I'd be more than happy to tinker with them but when I click the 3 bar box for options I really don't see any usable options. Just fluff stuff

Every phone display controls magnification with "pinching".... Maybe a grand kid ??? That would fix it...

And yes I do have a couple tablets and a PC but I've never used them for this. My tablets are business use for consumers and my PC is only used for gaming.
Having said that I'll look on them tomorrow to see if it looks different.

It looks VERY VERY similar to what we had before.. Except for SERIOUS bug you mentioned about those LONG "nested quotes"... Still a mystery why there's no answer for fixing this on the Xenforo forums or from our IT staff...

So -- not to "mansplain" here, but "pulling with 2 fingers magnifies and "pinching with the same 2 fingers should get you back to where you started from.. UNLESS you're using a "disability" feature on the phone that KEEPS it super-magnified...

I am not sure it is a bug, it could be fixed in the Admin Board configuration section quite easily, but then I get the impression this feature is an ADD ON, since I can't find anything about controlling the number of nesting posts in the Admin section. I have looked and looked, nothing about nesting post settings in the admin area.

Gee I keep wondering why I never consider Xenforo in the first place.

My FREE forum software allows me to set the maximum allowed nesting in a post in the Admin board area. It is part of the software CORE, meaning no modding or add on needed.

Thanks and true.. It's a mystery.. Because it's an UPGRADE and we did not HAVE this problem before.. Think Xenforo must be on lockdown or closed.... And THAT'S the problem...

I did some tinkering and I've come to the conclusion that this site just isn't mobile friendly. My screen is not blown up as you suggest. All other websites I visit regularly seem to have mobile specific versions that function properly.
If I turn my phone sideways TONS more features appear that i don't have access to otherwise, including page navigation.

Gramps is right, the format overall is still balls.

One of the most annoying things is trying to read multi quotes posts on mobile. If there are quotes within quotes you end up trying to read a sentence vertically. It’s ridiculous.
