Navigation and UI on this new format is AWFUL

This site is soooooo hard to navigate on a phone it's almost painful.

1. Threads are seemingly endless and with no page scroll options at the top it takes FOREVER to scroll to the bottom to change pages.

2. Every "option" is so damn big on the site that adult fingers trying to click font options are just as likely to wind up on a porn site as they are to actually pull up the font options.

3. Responses with MANY embedded quotes take forever to get to the end of with one letter per line.

4. The little button prompt to let you zoom to the top often disappears just as you go to click on it taking you to a search page.

5. The text box you're typing in is NEVER in view.


The site is just pretty unintuitive now

Maybe Twitter and their character limits are more your speed... If you're on a PHONE -- scrolling and navigating is harder for EVERYTHING. If you're NOT -- there's a scroll bar on the right hand side takes you ANYWHERE on the page pretty quickly..

There's a sticky thread at the top of this forum explaining the editing work around.. Only helps if people READ it and decide to help out til we get Tech service at Xenforo to address this..

Just stating a fact about mobile... It's good for simple apps.. But it AINT a "nook" or ebook reader very well.. In fact -- the NEW MOBILE app behaves better under this version., Don't need "helper" apps to use USMB anymore. And no - I'm not dissing you but folks have asked for nav buttons "at the top" or in the middle or at the bottom -- we can't have FLOATING nav buttons or MORE folks would complain.. The basic problem is -- mobile has NO SCROLL BARS... And you'd have similar problems reading a list of 29 product reviews or a lengthy mag article on mobile...

After a day or so of figuring it out the new format seems to work perfectly well.
Yes, there were some "old" features that are missed and the somewhat inarticulate, politically correct reaction (Like)
"tools" are pointless.
But for those who have no flexibility (thanks to their having been indoctrinated rather than educated), yeah, I can imagine their depth of confusion and despair but that's fun to watch.

If you've got it blown up and magnified that high, no nav thingy is gonna make that better.... Just saying,...

It does go away if you accidentally lose the touch.. It DOES come back if you just "bump" the scroll up a bit.. What search page does it take you to???

You don't need a floating nav button. EVERY other site I visit including your last one had fixed page navigation at the top and the bottom.

And for the record I used no secondary programs to use your last app.

Might I suggest that you take less frustration from all the complaints or suggestions and remember that the visitors here, donating or not, drive the popularity and thus the revenue of this site.

I think it's the new default font size format that's causing all of the overlapping. I donlt ever view any web sites on a phone, so I'm just speaking from experience with building and setting up web sites.

You can change the font size settings on a computer based browser, but not so much on a mobile browser.

That IS the top of page.. It TOOK you there. That's where the search box is -- but the MAGNIFICATION IS UP or you're page capturing is truncated.. I can count the characters left to right and there's not ROOM in that screen capture to display anything..

Maybe get some here that works USMB from mobile to help you.. I only know I NEVER see a full page of USMB look like what you're showing me.. TRY "pinching down" the magnification...

I can blow it up but I can't shrink it.

And yes I do have a couple tablets and a PC but I've never used them for this. My tablets are business use for consumers and my PC is only used for gaming.
Having said that I'll look on them tomorrow to see if it looks different.
