I suspect it's because Finns were long oppressed, and have some Asian DNA, which Asians despite their high intelligence, seem to be less creative, and seem to have less of an extreme intellectual elite than Europeans.

It's an interesting theory. Asians are good copyists, however.

By the way, the IQ-gradient from south to north is present also in Sweden, which is a very oblong country. We have extensive IQ data from the recruitment to compulsory military service. The northerners have somewhat higher IQ than the southerners. It is remarkable that these IQ differences also exist within the national ethnic group of a small country.

While East Asians have larger brains on average than Europeans, the largest brains recorded were of Europeans.

As opposed to tri-racial Puerto Ricans, or Dominicans who score low IQ's.

The Flynn effect jumped quickly in some populations who had quickly improved in conditions, such as East Germans, and Hispanic Americans in the 1990's, Japanese, and South Koreans in the 1970's, or Polish, Jewish, and Italian Americans in the 1940's.

So, that's really probably the main culprit, higher wealth, leads to improved nutrition, and improved education.

How do you figure "Jungle" in the jungle they have a steady supply of fruits, nuts, and berries.

The arctic on one hand does promote survival intelligence, but on the other hand might support slow metabolisms linked to stunted intelligence.

So, people from cold climates who gained agriculture early, could have gained both fast metabolisms, and arctic survival intelligence.

Long behold, that would appear to be true, while the IQ of Siberian, and Native American hunter gatherers wouldn't seem to be too high, they do score higher than Africans.

But, Europeans, and North-East Asians who both gained agriculture early, and had cold adaptation traits, both are the most intelligent.

So, it does indeed fit like a glove.

Just read a wonderful article on a Friends Facebook page - How Interracial Love is Saving America - New York Times June 3rd edition. I totally agree with it, seeing I've been interracially married for nearly 37 years. Here's a small part of it:

It would appear that Heterosis favors smaller brains.

At one time (20,000- 40,000, or so years ago)
South Africans had the largest brains (Boskop man) rest of Africa had the 2nd largest brains, Europeans the 3rd largest brains (Cro Magnon man) and Asians had the smallest brains.

Now South Africans have the smallest brains (Bushman) rest of Africa the 2nd smallest brains, Europeans the 3rd smallest brains, and Asians the largest brains.

Of course in this list Bushman have the highest genetic diversity, and Asians the lowest genetic diversity.

Not just that, but brain sizes have shrunk in all Humans in the past 20,000 years.

This would suggest that larger brains are most likely a recessive trait, and smaller brains are most likely a dominant trait.

This just makes the arguments for eugenics all the more necessary, especially considering that there is a correlation between brain size, and IQ.
