Ireland and Scotland were both conquered by Great Britain and kept in line by military force while being bled dry by having their men serve in the British Army and their land controlled by absentee (mostly) Protestant landlords. The Irish eventually made enough trouble that the British allowed home rule for most of the country. Even in WWII there were a very large number of Irishmen serving in the British Army.

Thanks. My grandfather's family was from the Isle of Man. There are almost no relatives of mine left on that little island at all. Most came to America in the late 1800's and early 1900's. A few of them went to the British/Welsh mainland to spots like Liverpool, Caernarvonshire and Manchester. The vast majority of them went to America to places like Rhode Island, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and even a few out west in California and Arizona. A DNA ancestry test confirms that I have far more cousins here in the U.S. than in Britain. The majority of them came across the pond because they were sick of the pompous, bureaucratic and controlling attitudes of the Brits. We're Americans now and proud of it.

An uncle of mine went and visited the Isle of Man a few decades ago to see the old country and he ended up looking up some cousins in Wales. He said they were all a bunch of sorry-ass working class bums who sit around watching the telly in their undies...and for some reason spend a lot of time bashing the Irish.

We're not like that here in America. In fact, my other uncle here had a nice fully Irish girlfriend for some time who may as well been his wife. We like the Gaelic tribes and their ways. The actual Anglo-Saxon Brits with their genocidal past? Not so much!

There are problems in those situations where if you’re not a so-called native you can’t join the union at the casino. A clear-cut human rights infringement and frankly something that goes against the great ways of the tribes.

Another issue is if you’re not a tribesman you can’t open up a casino By a tribal casino…. which is a clear-cut human rights infringement. In New York State people should be able to open up a casino just like they open up a restaurant. But we don’t live in a free state we don’t really live in a free country technically. We could we just have to work toward getting there.

Let’s be fair Where are the Republican big business guys where are the Republicans who are saying we’re about small government and “unleashing the private sector”. If they were real then we would be able to open up casinos all throughout the country if we’re white if we’re black or Chinese. How about this let’s see some black owned casinos opened up a mile away from tribal casinos. That’s called freedom. seriously I want to see black owned casinos where is Black Lives Matter on that.?

Part of the problem is that some of the tribal chiefs who do nothing but steal money have brainwashed a small portion of Indians in this country. But a lot of tribes of the country from the Seneca from the Mohawk, from the Oneida from all over the country they’re proud people they look back to their ancestors from hundreds of years ago instead of the corrupt tribal chiefs of today who provide garbage jobs. Don’t do anything for “their “ people….. only a small percentage of Indians have been so brainwashed that they think that “their land was stolen by the white man” And that somehow someway the white man the European white man was the bad guy in the Indian was a good guy. And insane way to thinking live no different than a black guy or a white guy saying all the black guys with the enemy throughout history the white guys been the enemy throughout history, the Chinese is the enemy throughout the history and so on and so forth

There’s actually cases throughout the country where tribal casinos don’t pay taxes to the government and they get forced to after years on end ….that happened recently here in Buffalo hundreds of millions of dollars was owed by the Seneca casino, they finally paid it.

To also share a story with you. There was this Indian some guy who is speaking at the University of Buffalo where my brother was graduating from law school sometime ago. This son of a gun is a millionaire this bastard had the audacity to get in front of all the people who are graduating and complain how bad it is for him and how the white man has oppressed him. People like him have monstrous attitudes. This tribal chief who is a millionaire and was allowed to speak in front of the University of Buffalo law school that was graduating….. if you’re an American and you’re not offended by him well you’re not an American. And to see the site of such weak pathetic white men white cowards who listen to an Indian man like that and say “oh he’s right he is a millionaire but he was oppressed by the white man. “ That weakness helps to destroy communities.

But you see that’s the country we live in we have a small portion of weak white men who when they listen to a so-called minority who is a millionaire telling them that they are oppressed…. telling them that their “white privilege” is a problem and then they agree with it……. it’s no wonder we have problems in this country with young people who are addicted to drugs. I don’t have any personal experience with reservations. But to me, they seem to be ghettos filled with people with no hope. No one forces Indians to stay on the reservations and most Indians leave and assimilate. It’s one thing to be proud of your heritage, it’s another to live in the past. My great, great grandmother was Comanche, her husband was an Irish cavalryman.

I have a lot of respect for the history of England for the longest time it was a Catholic kingdom and it produced many people I deeply admire like Robin Hood, King Arthur, Richard the Lionheart. Throughout history there’s a difference of fof opinions on this matter. Of course there are some number of Irish protestants and even some number of Irish Catholics throughout history that wanted to remain remain with the English or British.

I see similarities between the Scots and the Irishman. We are in a sense brothers bound by centuries of the Catholic faith.

I would agree that throughout the middle ages Scotland and the Scottish people were able to achieve more victories against their English overlords compared to the Irish.

I certainly have respect for Robert the Bruce. But yes I respect the Irish leaders of the 1798 rebellion and I think that that was the most united and greatest rebellion in Irish history. Even though it was a losing effort many Irish bravely died and they took on torture they died a glorious death.

By the way some number of leaders of of the IRA that fought during the times of the troubles were protestants. Not a lot of people know that. Of course the IRA of the 1970s and 1980s was mostly Catholic it wasn’t as nearly united as the 1798 Irish revolutionaries led by the legendary Wolf Tone… an Irish protestant who commanded the respect of Irish protestants and Irish Catholics united in the cause of Irish freedom.
