Yes, there is a call for a general strike on January 23, 2026, organized by labor unions, faith leaders, and community groups to protest Immigration and Customs Enforcement actions, with calls for people to stay home from work, school, and shopping. While centered in Minnesota, there are appeals for workers across the U.S. to support this action to demand the removal of ICE from the state.

Key Details:
  • Date: January 23, 2026.
  • Location: Primarily Minneapolis, Minnesota, with broader calls for national participation.
  • Organizers: Various unions (like ATU Local 1005, SEIU Local 26) and community/faith groups.
  • Reason: In response to ICE actions and the death of Renee Nicole Good, demanding ICE removal from Minnesota.
  • Action: A "no work, no school, no shopping" day to show solidarity and protest.

If I weren’t retired already, I’d absolutely go to work.

In fact, maybe I’ll get me a job just for that date.

Someone with deep pockets is protecting their interests.

I already took the day off. Of course you are a social security deadbeat.
I push for Deplorables to work as the worst employee in employment. This will quicken the decline of our nation.

Unions have long since outlived their usefulness to the American worker. They are now tools of the Democrats as we clearly see here.
And you wonder why the working class share of income and wealth has plummeted to all time lows. They remain the lone organizing unit in this country capable of providing resistance to tyranny.

Oh such drama! We must fight "tyranny" by forcing workers to strike for the "rights" of illegal aliens. There is the sad state of the Democratic Party.
