National Review turns the tables on Trump

Actually it is, for at least the last 50 years – from the Southern Strategy, which manifests today as white grievance politics and racist replacement theory, to the rise of the Christo-fascist right, to anti-immigrant nativism.

Conservatism is fundamentally fascist; conservatism is illiberal, anti-democratic, reactionary, and authoritarian – seeking to compel conformity and silence dissent.

Fascism fears positive, beneficial change, diversity, and inclusion – as do conservatives, we see this with the right’s efforts to demonize and vilify gay and transgender Americans, Americans of color, and immigrants.

Fascism elevates the state over the individual, as does conservativism – more government, bigger government at the expense of individual liberty; denying women their reproductive autonomy, voter suppression and disenfranchisement, laws hostile to gay and transgender Americans, laws violating the First Amendment rights of social media, and measures to ban books and subject matter conservatives oppose.

That’s why Trump is a product of the GOP/conservativism, of its ignorance, fear, racism, bigotry, and hate.
The southern strategy was made up leftist mumbo jumbo you lying sack of shit.

More and more are opening their eyes to the poison that is Donald Trump.

The email utilized those words to set up a financial kill shot, in Trump fashion:

“He wonders who’s funding us, and that’s an easy one — people like you who believe in our cause and who are willing to help out. There’s a reason that Mar-a-Lago wants us to die, and if you envision and hope for a better American future, you should help us live,”

The email dropped any pretense of journalistic nonpartisanship in its fundraising appeal.

“We want a Republican Party that can win majorities and that doesn’t limit itself to trying to eke through with 46 percent in presidential elections,” the email stated. “We want a conservatism that is unapologetic and serious-minded and not distorted by one man’s ego or abased by ridiculous conspiracy theories.”

I don't think National Review has ever been pro-Trump. It generally features the old guard or neocon Republicans who at least partially embrace the NWO. That means they were likely pretty anti-Trump from the beginning.

The question is are there any actual, true conservatives – conservatives who are consistent in their application of conservative dogma.

An actual, true, consistent conservative – an advocate of small government – would oppose ‘banning’ abortion.

An actual, true, consistent conservative – an advocate of small government – would oppose banning same-sex marriage.

An actual, true, consistent conservative – an advocate of small government – would oppose voter ID laws, restrictions on voting early, and government interference in the democratic process.

An actual, true, consistent conservative – an advocate of small government – would oppose the Christo-fascist right and religious fundamentalists’ efforts to conjoin church and state.

An actual, true, consistent conservative – an advocate of small government – would oppose more government, bigger government at the expense of individual liberty; oppose laws violating the First Amendment rights of social media and oppose measures to ban books.

Conservatives need to understand that ‘small government’ is far much more than just reckless, irresponsible deregulation and tax cuts.

The fact is that there are no actual, true, consistent conservatives, just neo-fascist authoritarians and ideologues.

Dumbass you lost your position with the southern strategy mumbo jumbo myth

Yawn dumbass we know how fake news works
Denial of documented reality festers in the minds of cultists who are unable to handle the truth.

Such paranoid delusion metastasizes until even white evangelicals, conservative megadonors, right-wing mrdis, and Republican politicians, even those providing corroborative testimony before Congress under oath, are all mindlessly reviled as "leftards!"

The reason that's true is that ever single day, more and more people are leaving the Republican Party. The only people remaining are Trump Humpers.

That's because the Trump humpers are calling everyone in the GOP who doesn't support Trump a "RINO", and forcing them out of the party. But, there are also others who see the writing on the wall and are leaving the GOP before it implodes.

Justin Amash and Paul Mitchell were two GOP elected congress critters who quit the GOP and became independent while still in Congress because of Trump.

So, there ya go................zero has been exceeded.

Ok, we found one Dimwit who has 2. The original Dimwit said so many left the only ones there are Trump supporters. Do you agree with that?

Does the original Dimwit have any?

For "more and more" to be leaving "every single day" it seems to me the total should be more than 2.

Hey.............you were the one that said there would be zero politicians that could be named who left the party because of Trump. I gave you 2 sitting congress critters who left the GOP and became independent because of Trump.

However.....................more and more Republicans are saying that they can no longer support Trump and that his time is past and he needs to go. And those numbers are growing day by day. Both by leaders and congress critters in the GOP, as well as the common every day person who identifies as Republican.

How is the National Review progressing with heliocentricity?

The Buckley Rule: Vote for the Conservative that has the best chance of winning.

National Review opposed Trump in 2016 because he was not perceived as an authentic Conservative. After they saw how he executed the office of the Presidency, most of their columnists came around and supported him. He was much better than expected, especially on immigration, taxes, and judicial appointments.

Republicans WON THE MEANINGLESS POPULAR VOTE for Congress in '22...51-47. Oddly, Democrats don't seem too impressed with the popular vote this time around. I wonder why not.

Recent polling indicates that Trump no longer has a strangle-hold on the party. Not surprisingly, National Review, seeing that there are others who are just as Conservative as Trump and less unpopular, have rejected him for the second time.

Two years is an eternity in politics. I don't think any Republican can win without an enthusiastic endorsement from DJT.

Republicans don't care about it. In Wisconsin, Democrats won statewide offices by a good sized margin for a swing state. Yet Republicans finished just short of a super majority in state legislatures.
