He was ousted by Republicans last week for participating in a protest calling for gun reform.

The second Tennessee state representative was reinstated Wednesday after the Memphis City Council voted to return the Democrat to his former seat.

The Shelby County Commission overwhelmingly voted to send Pearson back to the state legislature after being ousted by Republicans last week for participating in a protest calling for gun reform on the state House floor. He was removed along with Rep. Justin Jones, who was also renamed to his seat earlier this week.

Representative Pearson is expected to return to work on Thursday, when the full when the Full State House convenes.

How dare African-American Legislator's demand action on Gun Control. Just to remind the White Female Representative was right there with them, doing the exact same thing and she was NOT removed.

To repeat. NO Tennessee State Police were assaulted by anyone. NO Tennessee State Police Officers were beaten with metal poles or fire extinguishers. NO Gallows was erected the grounds of Tennessee State Capitol Building. NO person took huge fucking shit of the floor of the Tennessee State Capitol Building.

I can only tell you what the legislator who cast deciding vote that allowed the white Rep not to be expelled said - GE said the reason he boted the way he did was NOT based on race but based on a valid legal point her lawyer made about her not being an active / leading participant in the obstructing of legislative session.
