Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel says "First Amendment is highly overrated" - Illinois Review

I’m beginning to understand what Rahm Emanuel meant. I think he was telling Clinton that he need not fear the truth because a free press serves liars more than it serves the country. Emanuel must have given Barack Taqiyya the same advice because he went on to tell bigger lies than the Clintons told and the media lapped them up.

These excerpts from a very informative article reenforces Emanuel’s view:

. . . gather “success stories” of Americans dealing with Obamacare and distribute them to the media who often refer to them as an “independent” group.

XXXXX

. . . a report from CBS News hyped Medicaid and Medicare sob stories, while calling them “an advocacy group for health care consumers.” They were used again by CBS to play up Obamacare’s “early success” while referring to Ron Pollack as a “patients rights advocate” with no mention of his liberal agenda.

Now, they will try once again to do damage control for the White House and Democrats.

The media recently used them to show signs of life from the law amid a sea of bad news – as displayed by The Huffington Post and The Washington Post just last week. Both outlets touted a “study” from the group that supposedly shows positive signs from the law. The Washington Post even gave it the headline, “Want to debate Obamacare’s cancellations? You need to see this study first.”

Enroll America is sending emails with “success stories” of people signing up for Obamacare through the faulty healthcare.gov website– the purpose of the grant given to Families USA and a tactic they have used previously.

While the group doesn’t hide the fact they’re in favor of the law, they are used as an “independent” group when referenced by the media. This is the case despite being tied to Enroll America and their close proximity to the Obama administration.

‘Non-partisan’ group paid $1 million to produce positive Obamacare stories

Families USA Received $1 Million to Promote ObamacareCapitol City Project

In order to sell HillaryCare II Democrats told medical horror stories about the uninsured. Were their horror stories lies? Probably not because a lie of that kind is too easy to expose. The lie was in knowing that under HillaryCare II more Americans would end up uninsured. One might also say that the guilt trip Democrat horror stories laid on the public were propaganda lies.

Democrats are now trying to save HillaryCare II with success stories. So how come nothing horrible happened to the 3.5 million who lost their plans to date? Answer: They are all pictures of health with nary a head cold among them.

First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

As informative as Joe Schoffstall’s piece is there is always one omission in articles of that sort. The authors never detail the way organizations like the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Herndon Alliance, Enroll American, Families USA, George Soros’ Open Society Institute, and countless others are funded by tax dollars. In other words every dime they spend is a tax deduction for someone. That deduction is passed on to the rest of us whether or not we agree with the agenda.

Not only do some so-called non-partisan groups take a tax deduction, many other groups advocating Socialist/Communist causes are given tax dollars directly in the form of grants or subsidies.

Double whammy

Rahm Emanuel was right in more ways than one. Aside from the media serving liars more than serving the country, the media lives on tax deductible advertising dollars. Obviously, the media is not going to make noise about Socialists promoting their religion with tax dollars. As far as the media is concerned the less said about tax deductions the better. Bottom line: The tax deduction hits Americans twice. Once by the liars promoting their ideology with tax dollars, and again by the media providing the liars with a platform.

Finally, if the First Amendment is highly overrated regarding the press —— then the prohibition against establishing a state religion is surely non-existent in Rahm Emanuel’s world. Even if you reject all of the evidence showing that Socialism has become a state-sponsored religion you have to admit that the government has no authority to force one person to fund the beliefs of another.
