Narcissistic Personality Disorder (does this remind you of anyone?)

daveman and I can put down the torches and pitchforks.

We have a country to get through some times coming up.

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is a chronic mental health condition that affects how a person thinks about themselves and interacts with others:

  • Self-importance
People with NPD have an exaggerated sense of their own importance and may believe they are special or unique. They may also exaggerate their achievements and talents.

  • Need for admiration
People with NPD have an excessive need for admiration and may become angry if they don't receive it. They may also form relationships with people who boost their self-esteem.

  • Lack of empathy
People with NPD may have a diminished ability to understand or care about the feelings of others. They may also say things that might hurt others.

    • Sensitivity to criticism
People with NPD may have an inability to handle criticism and may feel humiliated or defeated by it.

    • Sense of entitlement
People with NPD may have unreasonable expectations of favorable treatment or automatic compliance with their expectations.

    • Exploitative
People with NPD may exploit others to achieve their own goals.

NPD can affect all areas of life and can harm a person's physical and mental health. People with NPD are also at a higher risk for completing suicide.

Narcissistic personality disorder involves a pattern of self-centered, arrogant thinking and behavior, a lack of empathy and consideration for other people, and an excessive need for admiration. Others often describe people with NPD as cocky, manipulative, selfish, patronizing, and demanding.

People are controlled by the laws of the government, by the consent of the governed.

Does this bother you, daveman?

Why do you want to control people? You think you know best.
Absolutely wrong. I don't want to control anyone. I don't want anyone controlled.

What's best for me is to be left alone to live my life the way I see fit.

I can't make that decision for anyone else.

These simple ideas anger the left.

Why do you want people controlled?

Go live your life. But when in public, you have obligations, buddy.

I might have worded it a bit more diplomatically than JGalt put it in Post #2 but he's spot on.

That Trump chooses people who share his goals and objectives and are in a position to help him achieve them is not narcissism. It is what competent leaders do. He gives credit to those who do their jobs, gives emotional and practical support to those who are under unjust fire for doing their jobs, is beloved by his children, he says what he thinks but he doesn't preach moral judgment on people, all who know him well say he has a heart of gold, cares deeply about people, and does what he can to help when he can. And it isn't bragging when he actually got it done and he got more good things done for America and Americans in the three years he had than any other President got done in eight in my lifetime.

Had Biden/Harris been able to reverse his tax reforms which they wanted to do and planned to do next year when they were up for renewal, we would likely be in deep recession now. Certainly the misery index and pain for the many millions of Americans Biden/Harris have harmed/hurt with their policies would have been far worse.
