Name ideas for a Christmas pup

That's the goal, to let him name her, but I know my kid and he's going to ask me for suggestions. LOL
We tend to wait until we have a grasp on their personality and then give them a name consistent with their dominant personality trait. A friend always names his based on an old TV character though.

A friend of mine, and her husband, are both deeply into music, and they had a wire-haired Dachshund which they named Stumpy Joe.

Gotta tell you, I haven't a clue who Stumpy Joe is/was, but the dog was one of the handsomest, sweetest, feistiest dogs I ever met.

My goofy niece insisted on naming her Blue Heeler pup, "Nevaeh", which is supposedly "Heaven" spelled backwards.

All I could think of was the fact that it would be illegal to smack my niece.

You don't like Nevaeh? I find it to be extremely beautiful. More for a person than a pet though. That's the name that my fiancee and I want to have for a middle name for our first daughter. Journey Nevaeh. To each their own though. :4_13_65:

Max, the name of the Grinch's dog. Could be short for Maxine, though I do know a gal who named her daughter Maxwell...

That's a very good idea. The first part, not the latter. A girl named Maxwell? That's way too masculine for me.

I thought it was weird as well. But she was very close to her grandfather, and he died shortly before the baby was born, so...

Also if you want to get patriotic you could always call her Libby. Short for Liberty. 😊

A guy I knew named his female lab "Mary". At first I thought it was a little weird but after being around the dog for a while Mary was the perfect name for this sweet dog.

Another fellow named his quarter horse mare "Mary" which was an awful name for her as she was as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs, built like a horse version of a bodybuilder, and always wanted to run.

How about one of the reindeer names? Prancer or Vixen sounds the best for a dog. Vixie is cute for short. 🥰 And yes I know that I have a lot of ideas. 😆
