"I know that it was wrong and something I will be shamed and humiliated about for the rest of my life," he wrote.

I can forsee more violence if this is the attitude being taken by the police forces. One can not condemn all over one force but this is a large one.

I hope his colleagues forgive him.

This proves that cops are just imperfect human beings like all of us.

Cops are not Superman.

This cop thought that he could defuse the tension by kneeling.

And maybe it did.

There WILL be police reforms.

But you do not have to be a Nostradamus to know that there's another cop vs. young gentleman incident waiting in the wings. Then there will be more marches, looting, kneeling, and reforms.

This situation will NEVER end so long as the United States of America exists.

The violence will end if the right actions are taken when those things happen.

I hope that you right, but I don't think you are.

The unpleasantness between various groups in this "unique" nation are intractable.

No matter what "right actions" (as you say) are taken, there will ALWAYS be people who say "Not enough."

The right action is not prostration and supplication to the mob.

And you wonder why things devolve into violence.

I told people in the beginning that those cops were only kneeling for the cameras..

‘The police lieutenant told his colleagues in the email that he had trouble sleeping after he "made a horrible decision to give into a crowd of protesters demands and kneeled alongside several other officers."’ ibid

Nonsense.

It was the correct decision.

Showing fealty to the enemy is always wrong. I was deeply ashamed of those who knelt. If I knew one of those men personally I could never respect him again no matter what else he did in his life.
