My thoughts on Elon Musk

After the wasteful bureaucracy gets done studying Musk's DOGE recommendations, I am not confident that we will see much savings. The best thing about it is that it has been brought out into the open and, hoping for a miracle here, maybe congress will pass some laws that will protect the populace from further abuse.
It's really up to us the voters now. We can make it crystal clear to our elected representatives that we WANT them to cut all unnecessary, ineffective, inefficient, wasteful spending and we LIKE what DOGE is recommending. Or we can just leave it up to the MSM/legacy media to tell them what to do which will be to cut nothing, leave everything alone or else they're Nazis or whatever.

Even cutting the amount of increase is anathema to the irresponsible, unaccountable left.

I would love to see a balanced budget amendment with a mandated percentage formula for paying down the debt as long as one exists. No more government charity until our fiscal house is in order.

If Trump is successful in getting the economy moving and thriving again, I believe he would be open to that.

That may sound good, but it doesn't allow for unforeseen disasters, or explicitly define when the budget is balanced, since it's all based on forecasts of income and expenses.

Take an example where after both parents get jobs, they buy a bigger house. After one of them gets laid off, they either go into debt, or they sell their house,

Why can't you answer my simple question.
Do you have any proof that Musk took government funds and used it in his own projects.
Of course he doesn't. Non of these people making libelous accusations can back them up with any credible source. They either make up the lies or they dutifully parrot the propaganda assigned to them to post.

But kudos for asking for their proof. Every time we do that we expose the deliberate malicious disinformation they use in their trolling.

I posted that Musk's DOGE 20 somethings were paid by the US Government.

At the same time they were doing work for Musk
Such as compiling the massive databases they downloaded from the different government agencies.

Good lord these trolling forkers are mind-boggling troublemakers w/o any common sense at all. DOGE is 4-5 months in. They are not done yet. It will end up in one year?

Maybe it’s found so good to be stewards of Taxpayer dollars DOGE becomes permanent? They said (Trump) get rid of DEPT of ED. Held up by Courts. Big savings therein overhead but funding to the States reduces overall savings. Many hold ups, roadblocks by deep statist. SHUP!!!

This was a huge wasted opportunity. Getting things done isn't just about WANTING to get things done, it's also about HOW you go about DOING it. And you don't do something this important and complicated like the way it was done. This was/is a goddamn circus. Par for the course for this administration.

Musk's ego, impatience and hubris didn't help. The American government is not a goddamn startup.
How about we let them COMPLETE THE MISSION and then assess how they did. Any rational observer (that leaves you out Mac) would be astounded at what they have already identified as well as the width and depth of the decrepit systems, the outright FRAUD of handing out billions to people over 115 years old, or under age 15. They are just getting started and all the Trump/Musk haters are squawking THEY FAILED like a bunch of stupid birds on a wire.

After the first month DOGE said they found $2 trillion in savings
After the third month that was down to $1 trillion
After the 4th month that was down to $150 billion.

If DOGE keeps going, at that rate we'll be paying billions into the system.

All they have to do is for the law to allow Congress to deal with any unforseeable extreme emergency that comes up above and beyond the budget they pass.

Maybe you missed it. But the longer DOGE worked, the less savings they found.

Elon Musk is thought of both as an elitest, out of touch rich boy, who bought his way into American politics and slashed many essential programs for the working class and the poor, as well as a really smart, decisive guy who understands the reality of balancing a budget involves making hard choices that are not always popular.

As an Independent, I think the truth lies somewhere between these two views.

Despite being born into a wealthy family, Elon Musk was famous for working very long hours for months on end, overcoming the many barriers to developing a truly unique vehicle that was both affordable, supercharging, and easily updatable.

I don't think Elon truly understood what it was like to be a working class American, so his thoughts on what were essential programs, and which needed to be slashed were far from perfect, but I do believe what he proposed as cuts were done with the sincere intention of making the American Government a better one, so I'm not inclined to judge him too harshly. In addition, I agree with Elon Musk when he said recently: "I was disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not just decreases it, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing," Musk said in a May 27 interview on CBS Sunday Morning.
I think he used to be a smart, decisive guy who got very rich, realized that with that kinda money he could get away with anything, and then added a drug habit on top. Now his intelligence and decision-making capabilities are a thing of the past.

I'll bite. What "essential programs for the working class and the poor" has he "slashed?"

Start with Social Security.
They closed down offices, while requiring people to show up in person to apply for social security.

And their automated (DOGE AI) phone system, doesn't recognize a person trying to inquire about a missing social security check.

It instead puts them into an endless loop, where if they want to talk to an operator, they have to explain the problem first.
And when they do the AI does a wash, rinse, repeat.
