My theory on the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping.

Nancy was killed by her kidnapper(s) either immediately or when they realized that to communicate with the family or anyone regarding ransom or other demands would pose too high of a risk of being caught, so they gave up their plan in order to save themselves from the law. I hope I'm wrong of course.
the family should not even agree to pay, much less do so, till they speak to her and confirm that she’s alive

The kidnappers demanded one million first and then raised it to six million

I suspect the cops know the mother is dead and are merely pretending a willingness to pay so that they can Id the perps

I think this is probably what happened. They killed her during a botched home invasion, hid the body, and the cops just haven't found it yet.

I sadly agree with you.

My big question is this. K&R is a fairly loose term for Kidnapping and Ransom. Many (if not most) companies with high profile persons have K&R insurance. The unusual thing is that nobody is on the policy. The policy is flexible as to cover everyone who works or is related to someone who works in the organization. For example, a corporate officer Exxon was kidnapped back in 1992. He was covered of course...but his kids were also covered.

Why kidnap an 84 y/o woman unless you know she’s connected to someone who has a name in the public light? You simply wouldn’t. Which means it was either not a kidnapping or they knew the heat they would get. If it wasn’t a kidnapping and just a sick/twisted/unspeakable abduction for other purposes...yuck. But you’d think they would wait until she’s out in the open instead of in a house where there may be alarms, cameras...etc. The latter is interesting because it would have the go down this way: you knew there would be heat but you’re suprised by this much heat.

Anyway I agree with you. She’s probably dead and the killers are probably in Mexico if not further south.
