Nancy was killed by her kidnapper(s) either immediately or when they realized that to communicate with the family or anyone regarding ransom or other demands would pose too high of a risk of being caught, so they gave up their plan in order to save themselves from the law. I hope I'm wrong of course.

I agree, that's what I thought early on when her blood droppings were discovered on the porch. Makes no sense for kidnappers to injure the person they are kidnapping immediately.

I can't argue with what the OP stated. I thought she was dead from the get-go.
A probable burglary that went bad.
I agree. It might not have been a kidnapping at all.

Has no law enforcement agency demanded proof-of-life?

Is it true that the sheriff is a Prog who won a real close race? We know how those things go in voting.

I think that's a very rational theory.
I hope it's not true as well but it could well be.

I know that I'm sick and tired of seeing her house every time I turn on the "news"....Enough already!

Trump would do everyone a solid by bombing something. ;)

I believe it was a burglary gone bad

Why would they have taken the body though? Seems like if it was as you say and they killed her immediately, it would be risky to then have to deal with hauling her out of the house, and having to dispose of the body. With cameras everywhere, they would have had to spend time being really careful where they dump her, plus she likely would have left DNA in their car.

I would really like to know who benefits most by Nancy being killed.

I don’t if she was killed by the person or persons who did this but given her age and health it doesn’t seem very likely she is still alive.

I hope you’re wrong, but it appears that investigation has turned cold.

That, I believe, is the universal question pertaining to all controversy.

Though it is a question which is very seldom asked.
That would be my first question in a case like this.

Number two would be, "Who might have been left out of her will?"
