My sports thought for the day.

What is the problem? Are you upset that sports teams played by a majority of black players are coached by a majority of white coaches? You are arguing for more black coaches, right?
How many black head coaches are currently in the NFL?

At the beginning of the 2024 season, the NFL set its own league record with nine of its 32 head coaching jobs held by minorities.

I would say, that at 13% of the population, they are already over represented.

And, you are arguing for more white RBs, WRs and DBs right?

The Mailman agrees.

Every time I drive by one I think....Someone could be killing groundhogs there.

Then you see the geriatrics tooling about in their carts and think "well it would also be a great place for a funeral home". ;)

1. There are two reasons why Blacks dominate the NBA. First is biological. Different bone structure, fast-twitch muscles, and all that. They are generally quicker, jump higher, run faster than White and Asian kids. Second, the Black culture (of recreation) is conducive to accelerate the Darwinian development of the top athletes. Specifically, "playground" basketball (as played primarily in Black neighborhoods) vs. School-related basketball, which is where Whites develop as players. On the playground, it doesn't matter how old you are. The best talent rises to the top. Younger players who have the skills play against older players at the same skill level, which accelerates their progress, as contrasted with "school" basketball, where every plays according to their chronological age.

This is also why Europe develops better White BB players than the U.S. In Europe, there is no SCHOOL basketball, it is all clubs, and your progress up the ladder is based on your skill level, not your age. As a result, highly talented kids (e.g. Doncic, Porzingis, Jokic) are playing against ADULTS when they are barely in their teens. The best 15-year old European players are playing in adult leagues. The best 15 year old American kids are playing against HS kids. That makes a huge difference for the most talented of the lot.

2. The Peter Principle applies in sports, as it does in most other things. The qualities that make an outstanding player are not the same as the qualities that make an outstanding coach. This is why as a general rule in all sports, managers who were mediocre players tend to do better than managers who were superstars as players (e.g., Ted Williams). Head coaching in the NFL is a cerebral job, and there are not too many Tony Dungy's out there. Whites, in addition to being almost 70% of the general population, are more likely to be of higher intelligence than Blacks. Deal with it.

3. The interesting but seldom asked question is, Why are American Blacks not dominant in Tennis, Soccer ("football," to the rest of the world), and Hockey, where their superior quickness and speed would dominate as it does in the NBA? The answer, of course is in economics for Tennis and Hockey, and culture for Soccer.

4. Baseball is thankfully a sport where a wide range of physical attributes can bring success. Speed, quickness, and jumping ability don't really help you to hit a baseball, or facilitate throwing a ball 100mph. Outstanding hand-eye coordination, along with good (not necessarily great) athleticism can bring a lot of success.

5. An interestinger phenomenon has occurred in boxing, particularly heavyweight boxing. The Black domination of the class died a few decades ago, and White and Black heavyweights seem to be competitive for the first time in a hundred years. Is it because the best Black athletes are shunning boxing in favor of football and basketball? Not my area of expertise.

I find that thoughful. But I also find it racist. Not really in a bad way though.

Golf is definitely a sport that requires incredible skill. I never did it because I spent a lot of time racing bicycles. I have had more concussions than most NFL quarterbacks. But boys will be boys I guess. Golf is not a team sport and it requires loads of practice like figure skating and the like.

Jesus Christ, talk about missing the obvious.

In my opinion, and I loved watching sports in my younger days, going to the games is not worth it for value. I watch today as closer to a front runner for my teams and except for football very rarely watch any playoffs without them.

So stupid. There are plenty of talented athletes of every race. The next breath will likely be some dimwitted connection from this nonsense to the "black kids don't do as well in school because white kids are smarter!" nonsense.

... the Black culture (of recreation) is conducive to accelerate the Darwinian development of the top athletes. ...
Another idiot trying to make everything about color. Try looking at location, density, and expectation.

Clearly not your area of expertise, nor is the English language. The poorest and most pissed-upon have always been the most likely to make a living getting punched in the head.

Because blacks are built to excel in these sports. Generally, in a foot race, the black man will beat the white man. In swimming, the white man will beat the black man.

Genetics shape reality.
'The slave owner would breed his big black (man) to his big woman so that he could have a big black kid. ... That's where it all started,' he said. 'The black (athletic) talent is beautiful.'

Predictable response—If you don't see my reality you are a racist!
Of course! Because they're better people than we are, right?

"Hey, you can't comment on race! It's better to act like you're just ignoring it!"
