My idea to terra form Mars

I still prefer Matty's OP idea: bring "Moses" to Mars so he can use his magical, holy staff to terraform it. While thunderously announcing his edicts like Charlton Heston's room-shaking voice of God.

My idea is to use a shield also but instead of expensive machines to convert the atmosphere we could use genetically modify organisms that take in carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. Afterwards dropping comets on the planet.

The main physical problem with Mars is that its iron core cooled & solidified too quickly, so it doesn't have the spinning, hot liquid-iron core that much-larger Earth still has. Therefore, Mars will never have the magnetic field necessary to protect its atmosphere from random solar farts that all stars have from time to time. That's why Mars has only has a couple percent of the atmosphere that Earth has. To be Earth-like, a planet needs to be large enough to have a molten core that takes billions of years longer to cool down and lose its magnetosphere. Mars is half the size of Earth.
