My grass is a foot high in some places

Like the other poster said.....wow!

So was ours till this afternoon, hubby cut it and it rained soon after. We have lots of rain and lots more in the forecast.

I have a row of trees, hedges, bushes, etc. at the back of my yard. I didn't care what grew there, I just stopped mowing around 6 feet from the fence. Now it looks wildly overgrown around the trees. The weeds may be mostly one plant with many woody stems and a vast root system. I squatted to lift with my legs, then used an ax, then a shovel to dig roots out. I figure this is the best time for yard work, after the summer heat and before the ground freezes.

August was like that for some friends and relatives I know. Couldn't even cut the grass because it rained every day. then, the grass was so high that it never could dry out even with any sun!
