After slavery, blacks were being killed by whites with no crimes charged while the Supreme Court basically repealed the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments with a series of rulings. Due the consistent state and federally protected barbaric acts by whites, southern blacks felt they had to go north. When blacks started moving north, southern business and government leaders enacted laws in order to stop free people from going where they could earn a decent living. But even under the threat of jail or death, millions of blacks headed north where they believe they'd be treated right. If they had known what was waiting up north, the migration would have ended in Canada.

This kind of terrorism has gone long ignored in understanding the brutality and long-lasting effects of such acts upon blacks in America. Ignored was the fact that blacks worked hard to get what they had, but that did not matter because blacks were to always be lesser than whites and the caste was to be created and maintained by any means necessary.

Blacks peacefully moved north to compete for same opportunities white immigrants had and this is just a small bit of what happened. White immigrants are the ones who committed the violence against blacks. White immigrants destroyed thriving black communities. I had a GGG Uncle on dad's side that owned one slave. His name was Buck, the helped run a grist mill and general store. My ancestor had to get permission from the county and Richmond to teach him to read, write, and do sums.

He was also a stone mason and earned money on the side that way. He built a small two-story stone home out back of the store, it still stands to this day and though the roof has fell in there are plans to restore it as it is the only known slave home in that part of Shenandoah county.

After the war he was gone a couple months and came back with a wife "Missy" (his reason for leaving) and they worked, lived, and died in the stone house he built. They are both buried in our old family cemetery.

My mom's side were Irish and came over in the mid-late 1850s and were poor day laborers. I suspect that slaves had it better (other than their freedom) than they did at the time.

Ignored was the fact that blacks worked hard to get what they had, but that did not matter because blacks were to always be lesser than whites and the caste was to be created and maintained by any means necessary.

Blacks peacefully moved north to compete for same opportunities white immigrants had and this is just a small bit of what happened. White immigrants are the ones who committed the violence against blacks. White immigrants destroyed thriving black communities. The same white immigrants whose descendants tell us today how they are not responsible because their ancestors did not own slaves.

My post you're responding to was from Nov '21. Guess it took you that long to figure out I was right and decide the ONLY thing you could do was to attack USMB and the moderation staff and me personally. Simply because you CANNOT REFUTE ANYTHING I ASSERTED.

Ask Condolezza Rice why her minister father had to drive to another county in the '50s to register to vote. The democrats in their country pulled out the "jim crow" jellybean jar and FAILED to register him. So Condoleeza recalls they DROVE together to a neighboring Republican county that gladly registered him. Happened about when I was born. And I STILL remember Bull Connor, Maddux and clowns like George Wallace. And that's why Condi Rice is a Republican.


Told you in the post you responded to here -- you have no FUCKING idea what my parents taught me. But I know I hated my father for latent racism by the time I was 14. So -- it really doesn't matter anyways. And I mean it was LATENT and SUBTLE. Because when he left the service, his best friends were black and ALWAYS around. One was a fighter jet jockey that took 1/2 day to bring over movies of air shows when I had the measles and couldn't go to the air base.

Being interested in the truth as I am -- I've since figured out that what I saw as "latent" racism in my father was really more a statement about CULTURE and attitudes, than a simple skin color problem. Only seemed to show up during riot and looting seasons.

So now you're deleting posts that you don't like while others can post off topic all they want. You aren't interested in truth. You read the responses made here then try telling me how racism from whites is in the past. That's an untruth in and of itself. If we use culture and attitude as an excuse for racism white CULTURE and the attitudes of whites like YOU give us plenty of reason. And really, your cognitive dissonance allows you to ignore the multiple drunken riots and violence by whites at various festivals and events almost annually. Riots that happen for no reason, like the attack on the capital.
