Ryan is a bright one to watch. So proud of him today. I actually thought the Summit ( lol ) was good for the Republicans and Independents as they got to hear and see just what the Republicans do want, collectively, and that includes among other things, tort reform and insurance sold across state lines.

I watched the summit. The Republicans looked and sounded very reasonable in today's meeting. They showed that health care can be improved without a take-over by the government of 1/6 of our GDP.

I''m not sure whose wrong or right on the numbers, but it's the accounting gimmicks that worry me. And since the POTUS didn't respond to them directly I'd have to assume that it was because either it is so or he didn't know one way or the other. We've seen the results on Enron-Arthur Andersen accounting and it wasn't good.

Since you didn't put a link, I won't bother to either, but I know my facts.

The average cost to a doctor ranges from $60 to $200 at a clinic and much higher for private doctor if you have no insurance.

The average cost for a single day in the hospital is $4,700.

The average cost at an emergency room is over $1000 and if you are between 45 and 65, over $1500 without insurance.

Don't forget the number one cause of bankruptcy in this country is for medical bills.

Why don't Republicans want Americans to have health insurance? They want to spend another Trillion in Iraq and in the Iraqi Constitution, which Republicans support, every Iraqi is guaranteed the "public option" (Article 31).
