Verse 2:56 adresses a group of ancient people. Verse 5:60 talks about mushrikun. Abed el-Tagut is an abstract concepts, not a concrete concept. So "pig" and "monkey" is an abstract analogy.

The Bible says things like thou shalt not kill, steal, etc, but Judeo-Christians have been ignoring these rules for centuries. I've travelled extensively in the "muslim" world, from Agadir to Istanbul where I have stood out like a sore thumb as an obvious "Westerner" but nevertheless have, without exception, been greeted with courtesy and politeness by evey Muslim I've encountered; I've felt safer going out at night in Marrakech or Istanbul than I have in some cities in the U.K.

Simple look at the conflict between Israel and islam and how many Islamic nations/peoples are waving sticks at Israel. There is your hatred for the Jews coming from just about every Islamic nation on Earth, the numbers of insurgents that have made their way to Palestine to kill the Jews as their religion commands.

Goes to show what a poor knowledge of history you possess. Read up on Mohammed's campaigns against the Jewish tribes, and have a look at the Berber Jews of the Maghreb. Also, there were Jewish settlements around Jerusalem when Caliph Umar conquered the whole of Roman Syria.
