Quran says dont take Jews and Christians as model for yourself. The equivalent of the English word "friend" is "sadiq" in Arabic, verse does not use the word "sadiq", it uses the word "evliyae", this word is only used to describe most respected persons of faith in Islamic word. To translate it as "friend" is not a mistake but includes lack of meaning. I dont know which word in English would fully satisfy the meaning of "evliyae", I have used the word "model" but still its not enough to satisfy the original meaning.

The answer is no they don't, SOME Muslims hate Jewish people, SOME Muslims hate the West, but it's by no means a uniform or universal emotion. MOST Muslims are angered by what they percieve is injustice towards their co-religionists, but MOST Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Jewish people, etc. son't hate anyone and are content to live their lives as best they can alongside each other.

Verse 2:56 adresses a group of ancient people. Verse 5:60 talks about mushrikun. Abed el-Tagut is an abstract concepts, not a concrete concept. So "pig" and "monkey" is an abstract analogy.

No the hadiths are just as relevant as they explain what the teachings in the Koran are all about, and you need to take them both in chronological order and not the order they were written down. So a verse from the last chapter of the Koran could have been the first one recited by Mohamed and hence has no relevancy to later actions. The hatred of the Jews started after the tribe in medina refused to prostrate themselves and worship Mohamed as god, so he had them massacred and took their prepubescent girls as his sex slaves. Then he entered into the Koran and hadiths the command to kill the Jews.

The Koran says different, so the muslims that don't hate the Jews must be apostates............
